Pop-rock: hooks with the lift of a band
Pop-rock sits where concise pop songwriting meets the physical push of a rock band. A memorable chorus can ride electric guitars, bass, drums, and a clear vocal while the production decides whether the track feels polished, bright, rough, or intimate.

Put the hook in the arrangement
Start with a riff, a vocal phrase, or a drum pattern that can survive more than one texture. Keep the verse lean enough for the chorus to feel larger. Guitar distortion is optional; the essential contrast comes from how the band opens the spectrum and raises the rhythmic energy.
Make the band move
A live-feeling drum fill, a bass line that answers the vocal, or a guitar part that doubles the final chorus can give the song momentum. Pop-rock does not require maximal volume. It needs a strong center, a singable shape, and enough instrumental personality to make the hook belong to a band.
