Birth of Hangul: The Origin of Korean Writing (ver. 나)

[Intro] [verse] 나랏말싸미 듕귁에 달아 문짱와로 서르 사맛디 아니할쌔 The tongue of our nation differeth from that of China, And their letters be not understood one of another. [pre-chorus] 이런 젼차로 어린 뵉셩이 니르고져 홇배이셔도 마참내 제 뜨들 시러 펴디 몯홇 노미 하니라 For this cause, the common folk, Though they have words to speak, can not well declare their thought. [chorus] 내 이랄 윙하야 어엿비 너겨 새로 스믈여듧 짱랄 맹가노니, 사람마다 해여 수비 니겨 날로 쑤메 뼌한킈 하고져 홇 싸다미니라 Therefore, in mine great pity, have I devised eight and twenty new letters, that all men may learn them with ease and use them with right great comfort in their daily lives. [verse] 나랏말이 중국과 달라 문자가 서로 통하지 아니 하니 The language of our nation is different from that of China, So their writing systems are not mutually intelligible. [prechorus] 이런 이유로, 어리석은 백성들이 말하고자 하는 바가 있어도, 마침내 제 뜻을 펼치지 못 한다! Because of this, the common people, Even when they have something to say, Cannot fully express their thoughts. [chorus] 내 이를 위하여, 가여이 여겨 새로 스물여덟자를 만드 노니, 사람마다 하여금 쉽게 익혀, 날로 쓰기 편안케 하고자 할 따름 이니라! Thus, out of deep compassion, I have created twenty-eight new letters. I wish for everyone to learn them easily And use them comfortably in daily life.
