Lyrics by Ryusei Miyakodori Composed by Yoichi Takizawa (1989) Steps echoing on the corner Vending machines glowing at 2 AM Dragging a convenience store plastic bag Keeping a beat in my head to someone's loop Taxis cruising by, windows like an aquarium Inside my headphones, a different city Waiting at the traffic light, a crowd of passing profiles All singing different songs, but matching the same stride The beat won't stop Like the pulse of this street corner The music keeps spinning From the soles of my shoes straight to my heart (hey) The beat won't stop Even past the last train, it echoes on The street corner turns into a stage Dance to the rhythm, just for tonight Shutters rolled down on the shopping street A secret gallery covered in graffiti On the asphalt where I stepped on some gum A little jump to reset today Canned coffee, still lukewarm Catching the eye of a kid on a bike Pedaling away with a hum on their lips Leaving behind just a hook like a lingering scent The beat won't stop Like the pulse of this street corner The music keeps spinning From the soles of my shoes straight to my heart (oh) The beat won't stop Even before dawn, it echoes on The street corner turns into a stage Dance to the rhythm, just for tonight
