Patriot & Patriot🇺🇸💔🪖
I flew you there and I flew you home But the flight going there was the one I knew And I never wanted to fly back home with you I prayed that God would keep you safe But now you lay in a coffin draped Carried down the ramp of my c-130 And Im sitting here with tears in my eyes watching your loved ones say hello and goodbye at the same time Oh how much it pains me, to see these hurts and sorrows The grief in the now and tomorrows The jolting of the lives of those you knew When a hero comes home draped in red white and blue I saw your little boy, wife and parents stand there on the tarmac Those were their last moments with you After you died, so did their dreams too Everything in that moment, the finality, it hit me Oh how much it pains me, to see these hurts and sorrows The grief in the now and tomorrows The jolting of the lives of those you knew When a hero comes home draped in red white and blue And I hope you know when I look at our flag, I see that little boy who’s growing up without his dad And I think of you. Everything you gave us, and they lost for the the red white & blue Every fold, every tear, every day of every year Reminds me our freedom is the price paid by those like you Oh how much it pains me, to see these hurts and sorrows The grief in the now and tomorrows The jolting of lives echoes for those you knew When a patriot brings a patriot home draped in red white and blue
