She was sixty five and standing in line, Trying to get a job paying overtime, Social security isn't getting her by And the wear and tear is showing on her face, Standing on legs that are weak and frail, With swollen feet and hurting like hell, She's gotta work or else, She's gonna die. I prayed to God to show some grace, Bless this lady and ease her pain, But she didn't know that I had prayed for her, as the tears start to fall down my face, I could almost feel her pain, And So I said another prayer for her God could you bless this lonely child, Take away her pain and let her smile, Give her the strength to go that extra mile, She could be somebody's mom, And they don't know what's going on, And they don't know just what she's going through When I raised my head up again. I saw her smile and say amen, I think she said a blessing for me to, God sure works in mysterious ways And I sure felt his love and grace, And my heart was sure enlightened by her to Sometimes we need a helping hand, Sometimes we just don't understand, And sometimes I think we really do, And sometimes we just need each other too God could you bless this lonely child, Take away her pain and let her smile, Give her the strength to go that extra mile. She could be somebody's mom, And they don't know what's going on, And they don't know just what she's going through When I raised my head up again, I saw her smile and say amen, I think she said a blessing for me too, God sure works in mysterious ways, And I sure felt his love and grace, And my heart was sure enlightened by her too, And my heart was enlightened, by her too
