Midnight at the Village Square

** Part 1: The Cold Empty The Story: A pile of snow sits under a dead streetlamp. The air is still. A discarded hat rolls across the ice. ** Part 2: The Breath of Life The Story: The hat touches the snow. Frosty heaves himself upward. He isn't a cartoon; he is a massive, lumbering golem of ice and coal. He takes his first heavy, crunching steps through the village. ** Part 3: The Village Parade The Story: Frosty leads a parade of children through the streets. His movements are slow and massive. ** Part 4: The Warming Warning The Story: Frosty pauses by a warm window. He feels the heat. The magic starts to flicker; he realizes his time is measured in degrees. ** Part 5: Thaw and Memory The Story: The sun begins to peek over the horizon. Frosty is gone, leaving only the silk hat sitting in a puddle of water that reflects the morning stars.
