Episode 1: Rescue Rousseau (Arthur-Verse)
╔════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 📚 ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 1 · ISSUE FILE ╠════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 🗂️ SET: ARTHUR-VERSE · S1 ║ 🎵 TRACK: Rousseau’s Rescue ║ 👥 CAST: Father Paul / Father Rousseau / The Clown ╠════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 🎬 SYNOPSIS: Rain on glass. One light burning. Father Paul gets the sealed order: ║ Rousseau—the city’s confessor—has been taken, and the Clown is near. Paul locks ║ into soldier-priest mode, blade ready, prayer loaded like a safety off. ║ ║ The lair reeks of bleach and rot. Rousseau is strapped to a bolted chair. The ║ Clown is not “holding him hostage”—he’s performing surgery on the city’s denial: ║ eyelids sewn shut, scalpels driven into ears, a smile carved into living skin so ║ the face can’t stop “agreeing.” SEE NO EVIL. HEAR NO EVIL. WEAR THE SMILE. ║ Rousseau’s blood and prayers mix on the floor while the Clown hums off-key like ║ it’s a lullaby for something dying. ║ ║ Then the ceiling breaks—Paul drops in like an angel with a warrant. He declares ║ judgment, swears the Clown will be buried, and raises the sword for the clean, ║ righteous cut. The Clown laughs and welcomes it—like this violence was always ║ part of the hymn, and Paul is just the next instrument. ║ ║ 🛋️ THERAPIST NOTE: Paul’s motive isn’t pure rescue—it’s purification. He needs the ║ world to be simple enough that he can keep calling himself “holy” while he does ║ harm. That line—“forgive what I must become”—is the tell. He’s pre-paying for ║ his guilt. If God signs the form, Paul doesn’t have to look at the part of him ║ that *likes* being the blade. ║ ║ The Clown’s motive is disgust sharpened into ritual. A confessor is a laundering ║ machine: rapists, murderers, predators, corrupt politicians—men who should be ║ named—whisper their crimes into a collar and walk out “cleansed,” while the city ║ keeps pretending the stain is gone. So the Clown doesn’t just punish Rousseau— ║ he attacks the function. He turns the priest into a public symbol of what Owl’s ║ Walk demands from victims: don’t see it, don’t say it, and smile so everyone ║ else can stay comfortable. That’s why the mutilation has rules. It’s cruelty, ║ yes—but it’s also an accusation aimed at the whole city. ║ ║ FILED IMPRESSION : Moral Injury + Compulsive Atonement (Paul); ║ Sadistic “Truth Enforcement” with ritualized punishment + obsession with public ║ complicity (Clown). ╚════════════════════════════════════════════ [intro: Tribal] Rain taps glass; one light still burns. Father Paul waits—the world still turns. Once a soldier, now God’s fist— he hunts the lost the law has missed. A message comes; the seal is new. The Order calls—there’s work to do. [verse 1: Tribal percussion and subtle orchestration introduction] Wax breaks red; the order is clear: “Rousseau is taken. The Clown is near.” The city’s confessor, held out of sight; Paul grips the blade—prepared to fight Armor locks, the vow is one: “Lord, forgive what I must become.” [pre-chorus: drums stop, Orchestration swells] Light climbs high; his eyes stay wide. He rides the night; the jester will die. [chorus: Symphonic rock with tribal percussion beats, hammer, hard, commanding, ANGER] By oath and steel, be buried in the ground; By sacred seal, let evil’s name be bound. Clown, I cast you down. God shall see you frown. [verse 2: macabre, ominous, tribal] Oh! The Jester’s Lair A Bolted chair, and in the air the stink of bleach. The Clown leans close, his words now preach: “This city hides behind your grace; I’ll carve its sin into your face. HAHAHAHAHAHA” He hums off-key, his hands don’t shake. Each note a cut he means to make. [pre-chorus: drums stop, Orchestration swells] Blood runs slow; the cords pull tight. Rousseau speaks clear—his faith still fights. [chorus: Symphonic rock with tribal percussion beats, hammer, hard, commanding, ANGER] By oath and steel, be buried in the ground; By sacred seal, let evil’s name be bound. Clown, God will cast you down. God shall see you frown. [bridge I] The Jester hums; His scalpels red and wet. He grins and laughs He won’t be buried yet. [Bridge II: Dark Choir and Lead Vocalist] SEE NO EVIL – needle hums; lids pulled tight. HEAR NO EVIL – scalpels drive till sound turns white. WEAR THE SMILE – he cuts a grin from ear to ear. Each tear drop named a mark of fear. THUNDER ROLLS – the lights go dim, the rain breaks through. Blood meets prayer in crimson hue. [verse 3] Glass explodes; the warehouse shakes. Paul drops hard; the ceiling breaks. Cape spreads dark; his armor hums. The Clown steps back—the angel comes. “The Order sent me—your death’s been signed. Clown, your judgment’s mine.” [Final Chorus: Explosive, Symphonic rock with tribal percussion beats, hammer, hard, commanding, RIGHTEOUS, VICTORIOUS] By oath and steel, be buried in the ground; By sacred seal, let evil’s name be bound. By flame and vow, your mockery is done; By faith and fire, this justice has begun You shall see Satan’s smile. God has won! [outro] The Clown laughs: “Praise be, angel—play my tune!” Paul moves once; the air’s a tomb. He sets his stance; the echoes drown. The blade will claim the Clown. He draws, no doubt— the sword comes cutting out.
