We've Been Around
I've been around for quite some time, and plenty have been here longer than me. We've watched the world keep changing, seen what it was and what it's come to be. We've had our fun and known good days, we've wept through pain and sorrow. Yet we've kept on travelling onward, setting the path towards tomorrow. We've watched the radios turn to screens, cash become cards at every door. We've seen bikes turn into e-bikes, as simpler days grow hard to ignore. So maybe it's time to slow it down, and hold a little tighter. Watch the sunrise start the day, watch the sunset make it brighter. Count the blessings all around us, the ones we've rushed on by. Find our purpose in the living, beneath this great wide sky. We've watched the young become the old, and old ways fade from view. But through it all we've carried on, doing what we had to do. For life is more than passing years, more than wrinkles, grey and time. It's every laugh and every tear, every mountain left to climb. I've been around for quite some time, and plenty have been here longer than me. It's not the years that tell the story, it's the living that we've done, you see. The roads we've walked, the hands we've held, the setting and rising sun. Life's measured in the love we've shared, and everything we've overcome.
