Letter to Myself

I wanna live in world where there’s all peace, no violence And all the ones that were unheard will be no longer silenced Single mothers get they babies right up out the projects Let souls be reminded that they’re worthy not just objects I wanna live in a world where all the dreams come true Fix broken hearts with love, know that we gon make it through I know you’re feeling pain, that’s what feeling lost will do But the other side is brighter promise this is just an obstacle Understand that with joy comes pain I know you’re scared, so you’re tryna maintain Tryna keep it together while you’re falling apart Take the weight off your shoulders, He knew from the start That our trials will soon become our testaments The people that we’ve lost will be replaced with someone better and Our situation will not be the same And our hearts will heal but the scars may remain I believe our souls are being planted The darkness grows our roots, builds our strength so we can stand in it All these tears, water the seed that’s been planted And what’ll grow will be so beautiful, you’ll no longer feel the damage There’ll be peace, right now He’s teaching us patience The memories of what should’ve been will all be erased Know you’re scared of the future, the unknown places So much untapped potential, so I need you to make it I got love for you, so don’t feel alone There’s been times, that I tried to go home I’m talking to the upper gates, to see the king on his throne To be reunited with my mother cause I’m always thinking of her He has better plans for me, blinded by the love that I thought people really had for me They took my heart but I can’t let em take my faith from me Gotta take this pain gracefully, glad that I ain’t who I used to be Glad that I ain’t who I used to be To the relationships I’ve lost I deliver these sad eulogies Safe to say there’s no connection between you and me My mind says to fix it all but my heart is saying let it be Cause if it’s meant to be then it’ll be, don’t let it take your peace It’s pain that the wounded mind can only claim to see We must defeat the enemy, we’ll soon be screaming “victory” Cause if it comes to me and you to save myself I’m choosing me To the relationships I’ve lost I deliver these sad eulogies Safe to say there’s no connection between you and me My mind says to fix it all but my heart is saying let it be Cause if it’s meant to be then it’ll be, don’t let it take your peace I hope you find your smile And if you need some time to find yourself then stay a while Know you’re going through some changes and have things to figure out Just keep your head above the water and they’ll soon be asking how How’d you get in your position And I hope you tell em love and joy and peace is what’s been missing
