I watched the waves roll on the sand, Felt my small hand slip from His hand. He whispered low, “It’s deep ahead,” But still I ran, unchecked by dread. I thought I knew the path to take, No need to pause, no room to break. But when the tide pulled hard and wide, I called His name, no place to hide. “I can do it myself,” I said, Blind to the rocks that lay ahead. But love stood waiting on the shore, With open arms, like times before. Lord, break my pride, undo this shell— I don’t want to do it myself. He reaches out—I see Him now— To guide me through, to show me how. Not every storm is mine to brave; He sometimes sends a soul to save. Now in their eyes, I see my past— The hidden pain, the smiles that mask. Lord, use my voice, my hands, my light, To guide their steps from wrong to right. “I can do it myself,” they cry, But we were never meant to try. To stand alone beneath the strain— Love walks beside us in our pain. Lord, break their pride, undo the shell— They don’t have to do it themselves. He never leaves, He doesn’t chase— He waits for hearts to turn in grace... “I can’t do it myself,” I see— Your grace alone can carry me. And when I fall or lose my way, Your mercy meets me every day. You never left, You never fell— You knew I couldn’t do it myself. So take my hand, Lord—lead me still... I know I can’t... ...do it myself.
