Gold Through the Valley [Verse 1] I didn’t know he was there, I just thought I grew up dim, thought the weight was born with breathing, didn’t know what fed within. Long years turned through the shadow, through the valley, through the static, dragging dusk behind my spirit, thinking darkness was just habit. He was old before remembrance, older than the desert sand, gold across his throat and knuckles, burning symbols on his hands. Not flesh-bound, not a coffin, not a beast from village lore, more a shamanic vampire moving through an unseen door. [Pre-Chorus] Shamanic signal, ancient code, half in the astral, half in the node. He moved through sorrow like sacred tech, reading my fractures like data checks. [Chorus] A multidimensional frame opened up when I only had a one-line view, and the vampire wore gold through the afterworld glow like he stepped from the stars in a circuited blue. He fed on the charge I mistook for my fate, on the ache I had folded beneath my skin, and I thought I was broken my whole damn life— didn’t know something ancient was drinking me dim. [Verse 2] My human sight said apple, caramel, chocolate, harmless thing, but something older in the dark saw appetite beneath the sheen. He didn’t see a snack at all, he saw a heart beneath the glaze, saw sweetness as a veil of signal, saw warmth still pulsing through the haze. He had obelisks in his silence, satellites behind his eyes, astral maps and coded language, desert moons in neon light. Pharaoh posture, hacker fingers, gold like solar memory, scrolling through my field of spirit, breaking locks in frequencies. [Pre-Chorus] He wasn’t standing in the room, more in the pressure behind the gloom. A crown of signal, a calm machine, a vampire moving through my in-between. [Bridge] Then I saw my shadowself in the gold-lined mist, an astral master with a solar wrist. Not wholly other, not wholly me, more like the shape my pain would be. He said, “You should have died. For that, I grieve. And still I thank you for letting me breathe.” Ancient astral with a digital grin, half serpent wisdom, half algorithm. Gold-wearing watcher, veiled and thin, shadowself vampire at the edge within. [Final Chorus] A multidimensional frame opened up and the old flat world fell out of line, now I see how the valley was never just mine, something watched from the edges of time. And the vampire in gold with the tech-lit calm left codes in the dark where I’d been, but I made it through the valley, I aged through the weight, and he never got all the way in. [Outro] I didn’t know he was there. I just thought I grew up dim. Now the gold lights up the afterframe, and I can feel where I end, where my shadowself waits, and where the vampire tries to begin.
