[Verse 1] Mum and Dad and the kids in a tent, Wondering where the last few dollars went, Standing in line with a hundred more, Waiting outside another door. Food's gone up and wages haven't, Every dollar's stretched so thin, You don't need a war across the ocean, To know what hard times we're living in. [Chorus] We can't carry all the world, We can't right every wrong, But never stop caring, When the hurting carry on. Keep a spark of mercy burning, Don't let kindness drift away, We can't carry all the world, But we can help someone today. [Verse 2] Another family shattered, Another hometown gone, Another child cries for a father, Another mother mourns alone. The tears may fall a long way from us, In places we may never see, But their pain still matters, Just as it would matter to me. [Chorus] We can't carry all the world, We can't right every wrong, But never stop caring, When the hurting carry on. Keep a spark of mercy burning, Don't let kindness drift away, We can't carry all the world, But we can help someone today. [Bridge] The evening news keeps rolling, Another tragedy appears, At first we're shocked and shaken, Then it fades with passing years. But if we lose compassion, If our hearts just turn away, What kind of world are we leaving, For the children of today? [Final Chorus] We can't carry all the world, We can't right every wrong, But never stop caring, When the hurting carry on. Keep a spark of mercy burning, Don't let kindness drift away, We can't carry all the world, But we can help someone today. [Outro] So keep your heart from growing cold, Keep your eyes open to the need, We may not change the whole wide world, But kindness grows from every seed. We can't carry all the world, it's true, But never stop caring.
