╔════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 📚 ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 1 · ISSUE FILE ╠════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 🗂️ SET: ARTHUR-VERSE · S1 ║ 🎵 TRACK: “Episode 17: Time To Wake Up, Part II” ║ 👥 CAST: Tim Drake / Justin (Meta Author) / Gracie / Arthur (referenced) ╠════════════════════════════════════════════ ║ 🎬 SYNOPSIS: Tim steps into a wrong morning. Daylight, cold, suit and tie, kids on ║ a bus like nothing is wrong—but the sky, the glass, and even Tim himself feel ║ different. He notices everything: the cracked door, a discarded vape cartridge, ║ the way the house sits slightly crooked. Training still shapes the way he thinks, ║ but he is no longer moving with Owl’s Walk’s comic-book physics. ║ ║ The same voice Tim heard through Gracie in Part I leads him to the house. The door ║ opens on a shirtless, exhausted man who has never seen him before. Tim asks whether ║ he is Arthur. The man says no and gives his name: Justin. The reveal is simple and ║ destabilizing—the Meta Author is not another god. He is a tired human being with a ║ dog, laundry, a Keurig, and too many coffee mugs. ║ ║ Justin offers Tim coffee and points him toward the cabinet. Tim takes a black mug ║ with a horizontal red stripe, strikingly similar to the Conner mug Tim caught before ║ it could break in Part I. Here, outside Owl’s Walk, Tim does not catch it. The mug ║ falls and shatters into six pieces. Tim compulsively counts the fragments and tries ║ to clean them until Justin pulls him away from the mess and helps him settle. ║ ║ Justin has more than one mug. Later, Tim is holding a different one—a Clown mug— ║ while they talk. Tim says his friend Arthur is missing. Justin admits that he wrote ║ Arthur, and then admits that he wrote Tim. For one terrifying moment Tim wonders ║ whether that makes him unreal. Justin answers immediately: no. Tim is here, and ║ that is enough. ║ ║ Tim apologizes for breaking Justin’s mug. Justin looks away and back, and Tim is ║ gone. Tim later wakes in his own bed in Owl’s Walk with the frayed rope still in ║ his hand. The name “Justin” will not remain clearly in his memory. Then he notices ║ the black mug with the red stripe in his own world—the mug he caught in Part I, ║ the mug that never broke here. Gold seams now run through it anyway. ║ ║ The broken object did not simply travel home with Tim. Something stranger crossed ║ the boundary: the history of the break, and the history of its repair. ║ ║ 🛋️ THERAPIST NOTE: The paired black-and-red mugs create a cross-layer echo. In ║ Owl’s Walk, Tim’s reflexes save his mug before it breaks. In Justin’s world, those ║ impossible advantages no longer protect him, and the corresponding mug shatters. ║ The Clown mug seen later is a separate mug, not the broken one restored between ║ scenes. ║ ║ When Tim returns, his original Owl’s Walk mug carries gold seams from damage it ║ never suffered there. The anomaly therefore is not merely an object crossing worlds. ║ Cause and consequence appear to have crossed with him. A break in the Meta Layer ║ has written itself onto an unbroken counterpart in Owl’s Walk. ║ ║ The gold repair also anticipates a recurring Arthur-verse idea: repair does not ║ require pretending the break never happened. The seam preserves evidence of damage ║ while allowing the object to continue. Tim cannot remember Justin clearly, but the ║ world retains a physical record of their contact. ║ ║ 🩺 FILED IMPRESSION: Cross-reality contact with partial amnesia on return and ║ sympathetic transfer between counterpart objects; early evidence that boundary ║ breaches may transmit history and consequence rather than merely matter. ╚════════════════════════════════════════════ [Verse 1] Daylight. Cold. Suit and tie. Dirty storm glass, wrong sky Kids on a bus like nothing’s off Tim stood there, half-alive, half-soft He clocked the cracks, the leaning door A vape cartridge tossed near the porch floor He knocked three times—barks blew back “Gracie, shut up…” a voice went slack He knocked again. The door swung wide. A man stood there, shirtless, tired. “Can I help you?” Tim asked, “Are… are you Arthur?” The man froze. “No… who are you?” And Tim said, “My name’s Tim.” He spoke it true. “Oh my god,” the man breathed— “My name’s Justin,” and felt his breth leave “Come in,” he said, embarrassed, quick Tim stepped through, blood ran thick [refrain] mmmMMMmmm [Bridge: subtle tribal percussion enters] Inside: socks, stuffing, piles of clothes Not danger—just life that shows Gracie leaned in, tail like a flag Justin rubbed his face, voice went ragged Coffee offered, words too fast A Keurig gift from weeks now past “Mugs up there,” Justin pointed weak Tim reached— The mug fell and clattered Crack. Shatter. Ceramic matter. Six pieces. Tim counted. Dropped to floor Hands kept moving, needed more “Tim,” Justin said. “Hey. Look at me.” Tim couldn’t stop. Couldn’t breathe. [refrain] mmmMMMmmm [Verse 2] Justin took old laundry from the floor Clothes dropped round the ceramic core Moved without rush, done this before “My dog won’t step there,” he said, and smiled He pulled Tim up like he was handling a child Coffee in hand. Couch. Water cup. Breth slowed down. Tim looked up. “My friend is missing,” Tim said, low. “His name’s Arthur.” Justin went pale. “I wrote Arthur.” “But that ship’s sailed.” Justin went on in a blur talkin’ about his god, Arthur “I— I wrote him.” “And I wrote Tim.” Tim’s chest went numb and began to ask — dumb, “Am I—? Am I—?” Justin snapped, “No!” then softened it quick “No. You’re real. You’re here. That’s it.” He rambled, panicked, trying to make sense Tim watched the edges of his sentence [Bridge] Clown mug grin in Tim’s own hands Justin’s eyes wet like breaking dams Tim said, “Sorry about your mug.” Justin blinked—looked away—looked back Tim was gone. Nearly gave Justin a heart attack. [Refrain] mmmMMMmmm [bridge: build-up, escalate, panic, fear, determination] Justin yelled Tim’s name, rooms turned bare Then typed like a prayer into empty air Justin typed and typed… No co-writer, no help, he was hyped but he typed and used his hands He’s writing a world and he saw it stand [Outro: tribal percussion continues] Tim woke up hard with rope in hand A dream slid off like shifting sand He couldn’t hold the name he’d heard Just heat, just hush, just blurred He set the rope back where it stays Saw his mug still warm, still whole Gold seams stitched where cracks should be Like someone fixed it quietly His comm hissed: “Red, respond—go.” “Strange plant growth on Tenth—below.” Owls Walk stirred, the silence broke. …The city now woke… [refrain] mmmMMMmmm mmmMMMmmm mmmMMMmmm
