V4.5-ALL

Verse 1

Timber house, weatherboard,
Slightly crooked, out the back.
Wobbly steps, low-set hall,
Inside cosy, nothing lacks.
Fireplace big, table huge,
Sink so small it’s just for show.
Aunt and Uncle sitting there,
Two weeks of holiday, oh no!

Verse 2

Blue stuff stains my hands bright,
Magic water makes sheets white.
Old washer chomps, rollers spin,
Fingers trapped ... I start to cry.
Cousins arrive, the boy’s a pest,
Everywhere I go, he won’t rest.
I yell, “GO TO HELL!”...big mistake,
Aunt dunks my head and shoves in a cake.

Pre-Chorus

Soap in my mouth, water up my nose,
Prayers to Jesus on the wall, I suppose.
Photos of the Queen staring tall,
Keep that townie away from me, oh gosh!

Chorus (Punchy)

GO TO HELL! ... mouth full of soap,
Blue hands in the tub, can barely cope.
Kangaroo peeking, magpie dive-bomb,
Aunt’s yelling, “Do it proper, you little townie!”
Out the back of Woop Woop, chaos all day,
Never a dull moment, that’s Woop Woop way!

Verse 3

Tiny tub in the middle of the floor,
Fire roaring, draughts galore.
Rub-a-dub-dub, I scrub so fast,
Splashing water, hope it lasts.

Pre-Chorus

Soap on my head, towels in a heap,
Scrubbing chaos, not a peep.
Aunt gives orders, I comply,
Middle of the kitchen, oh my!

Chorus

Bridge

Magpie dive-bombing, kangaroo grins,
Soap dripping off, I can’t win.
Townie in the country, learning the rules,
Out the back of Woop Woop, life’s full of fools!

Chorus

Outro

First visits wild, a mess, a fuss,
But I grew to love all of us.
Soap and bluing, chaos too,
Out the back of Woop Woop, that’s true.
