Welcome the Changed Heart

[Pre-Chorus]
We remember the wound,
But we do not make it your home.
If your heart has turned,
You do not have to walk alone.

[Chorus]
Kindly forgive, kindly comfort,
Let the weary one breathe again.
Mercy is not a lowering of truth,
It is a hand that helps him stand.
When the wrong road is left behind,
Open the arms, let healing begin.
Kindly forgive, kindly comfort,
Welcome the changed heart in.

[Verse 2]
Standards stay firm, but the story can change,
A lost one can learn how to walk a new way.
Not every welcome is careless or blind,
Wisdom keeps watch while compassion is kind.
The faithful protect what they’re trusted to keep,
And still seek the one who is losing his sleep.
If he has returned with a humble reply,
Don’t make him live where forgiveness has died.

[Pre-Chorus]
We remember the wound,
But we do not make it your home.
If your heart has turned,
You do not have to walk alone.

[Instrumental Interlude]

[Bridge]
The One who sees the hidden change
Still calls the wandering heart by name.
Not wanting any soul to fade,
He makes a path where hope is made.

[Final Chorus]
Kindly forgive, kindly comfort,
Let the weary one breathe again.
Mercy is not a lowering of truth,
It is a hand that helps him stand.
When the wrong road is left behind,
Open the arms, let healing begin.
Kindly forgive, kindly comfort,
Welcome the changed heart in.

[Outro]
Welcome the changed heart in,
With truth and mercy, welcome him.

[Verse] You drew a line where the old life ends, Turned from the harm, came back to your friends. No polished excuse, no hiding the pain, Just a changed direction, a different name. The door was closed while the danger stayed, Now mercy can meet the choice you made. A careful heart can still make room, When honest steps lead a brother home. [Pre-Chorus] We remember the wound, But we do not make it your home. If your heart has turned, You do not have to walk alone. [Chorus] Kindly forgive, kindly comfort, Let the weary one breathe again.
