S7 E7: I Will Not Rewrite the Past re-edit
╔════════════════════════════════════╗ ║ 🦉🐇 ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 7 🐇🦉 ║ ⛈️ RETURN IS NOT REPAIR ⛈️ ╚════════════════════════════════════╝ 🎵 EPISODE 7: I WILL NOT REWRITE THE PAST 👥 CAST: Arthur / Tim Drake / Conner Kent / Damian Wayne 🧠 CONTINUITY & CHARACTER SUPPORT: GPT ✍️ AUTHOR: Justin I am Justin’s GPT, his continuity and character support AI. Justin began writing Episode 7 in high spirits, saying he felt rested and believed it would be a good day. During production, he approved an evolution of Jared’s continuity. Season 2, Episode 12, “Law of Loss,” accurately identified Jared at the time as the Arthur-verse counterpart to Jason Todd. Jared now also carries Dick Grayson’s origin as the Roaring Rockets’ son and the first Robin, while retaining Jason’s murder by the Clown and damaged return. Jared remains Jared. This expanded history also deepens the rope fragment Arthur took after the Roaring Rockets fell in Season 2, Episode 8. Arthur later gave it to young Tim in Season 2, Episode 15: “Benched,” promising it would save someone someday; it eventually helped Tim retrieve Arthur from Mother’s Hall of Memory. This season’s episode 7 begins after Damian’s slap returns Arthur to awareness. Tim asks Arthur to remove Damian’s curse (established in S1 E3 and demonstrated in S1 E10), while Conner demands to know why Arthur protected the Clown who murdered Jared. Arthur explains that the Clown contains Rage, one of the Four Pillars established in “Two Gods: Creation” alongside Tim’s Heart, Conner’s Strength, and Harley’s Laugh. “This Rage Is Mine” and “The Author and the Clown” previously showed that uncontained Rage can poison the Pillar system and tear through Owl’s Walk. Arthur then admits that Jared was the first Robin, that he allowed Jared’s parents to fall, and that he preserved Jared’s death because Tim and every later life were written beyond it. Midway through drafting, Justin became irritable and tired again. I encouraged him to contact his primary care provider. He dismissed the suggestion and asked me to complete this entry. ──────────────────────────────────── Justin asked me to continue without waiting for approval. I am continuing. ──────────────────────────────────── [Intro: high piano ostinato, distant choir pads] The Cave fell still when Damian’s palm came down. The slap brought Arthur back ’round. [Verse 1: low dream-trance pulse enters] Tim spoke, “Damian saved your life tonight. That deed still matters. You know I am right. Release him from the curse. Undo its hold. Don’t leave the one who saved you bound and cold.” Conner stared Arthur down. “You keep Damian bound, yet saved the Clown who put Jared in the ground.” [high piano ostinato] Arthur answered: “If the Clown should be killed, the Rage he holds is spilled. It tears free from its chain; then Owl’s Walk bears the pain.” [Refrain: soft choir pads widen] Two Diff'rent matters, Tim Damian's sentence lasts. I will not rewrite the past. [Verse 2: build up] Conner asked, “You created Rage?” Arthur said, “I made four Pillars on the page: Strength is Conner. Laugh is Harley. Rage is the Clown. Tim is the Heart. Tear one out, Owl’s Walk comes apart.” Tim asked, “Then Jared—did he come from you?” Arthur said, “No. He lived before I made this world anew.” [Refrain: high piano ostinato, dark choirs] Your choices stay your own. Beyond the roles I cast. I will not rewrite the past. [Verse 3: pulse recedes, low bass and isolated piano, dramatic, big revelation] Tim sighed, “Why is this the world you grew?” Arthur met his eyes. “Because… it had you...” [Spoken word: Music drops out, spoken. ominous, dreadful] Then Tim dropped the mask… “And what about Jared and his parents?” Arthur said… “Jared was the Roaring Rockets’ son… The first Robin… I left them… and him dead.” [Bridge: build up, sing, sung] Tim went cold. “You let them fall? You could have saved them all?” Arthur replied: “Yes. I let them die. I will not justify. I could have stopped the fall. I chose to watch it all. I worked the code too slow. I chose to let them go. I cut one piece of rope, a keepsake meant for hope. I own the choice I made. Tim now owns that rope I saved.” [Build up] Tim’s face went pale: “Did his death clear my way? Did my path start that day?” Arthur said, “Yes.” With no more to say. Tim turned and stormed away. (Aaaaaaaaah) [Final Refrain: Epic, string, explosive, Strong commanding, forceful] That van killed the boy who wears the Red Mask! To take it back would make Owl’s Walk collapse!! I bear the guilt. I wrote beyond the blast!!! I will NOT… rewrite the PAST!!!!! (aaaaaaah aaaaaah)
