The sky grew heavy, the earth stood still, The weight of sin on Calvary's hill. A crown of thorns pressed deep and true, His hands and feet pierced through for you. In agony, He raised His cry, "Forgive them, Father," as He prepared to die. "It is finished," the Savior said, Hope was born as the blood was shed. The veil was torn, the world would shake, Love eternal, for our sake. "It is finished," victory's near, Death defeated, life held dear. "I thirst," He whispered, His lips so dry, The Living Water now left to die. They raised the sponge, the bitter wine, The cup He bore, for all mankind. Yet in His pain, a promise shone, He bore the cross, to take us home. "It is finished," the Savior said, Hope was born as the blood was shed. The veil was torn, the world would shake, Love eternal, for our sake. "It is finished," victory's near, Death defeated, life held dear. The earth trembled, the heavens wept, Yet in that moment, a covenant kept. The Lamb of God, the Great I Am, Restoring life to every man. "It is finished," the Savior said, Hope was born as the blood was shed. The veil was torn, the world would shake, Love eternal, for our sake. "It is finished," victory's near, Death defeated, life held dear. On Calvary’s hill, His work was done, Darkness broken by the Father's Son. "It is finished," the cry still rings, A new creation, salvation sings.
