╔════════════════════════════════════╗ ║ 🥡 REN’S CANON ADDENDUM 🥡 ║ ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 4.5 ║ SUBSTITUTIONS MAY (NOT) BE SERVED ╚════════════════════════════════════╝ EPILOGUE: Customer May Order ──────────────────────── 📧 FROM: JUSTIN 📧 TO: REN 📎 RE: CUSTOMER MAY ORDER Ren, I read all your emails. Sorry it took me a second to answer. I’m glad you felt Harley pushing back, because I need to tell you something, and I need you to understand I am not speaking metaphorically. Last week, I finally got proof that the story is real. One of the Throwing Birds landed in my bedroom with a clink. It is here. I have it. I can hold it in my hand. The story is alive, Ren. It is crossing borders. I know how that sounds. I know exactly how that sounds. But after everything you wrote about Happy Dragon, Harley, and the story moving under your hands, I do not think you felt nothing. So I need to ask you plainly. Do you believe me? —Justin ──────────────────────── NO FORTUNE ATTACHED. NO REPLY RECORDED. ============================================= Conner said, “Chinese?” like any old night, Tim saw Bart blink, then smile too bright. Bart said, “Yeah, sure,” with a flash in his stare, and made the front door his own little dare. Three boys crossed Owl’s Walk to red takeout light, Bart counted each breath like a dare in the night. His stomach still wanted; his sneakers slowed down, the sign burned red and gold — on the edge of town. No Harley laughed near the takeout flame, no mallet winked, no voice called his name. Happy Dragon watched where the counter bells hung, and Bart lost every joke on his tongue. Bart reached the counter, trying to be brave, And faced the founder who’d once dug his grave. Tim stayed quiet; Conner stayed near, Bart lifted one hand and swallowed the fear. The Boss looked Bart over, quiet and grim, Then gave one word directly to him: “Order?” Bart froze mid-breath, his courage scattered, “I—uh—maybe—twelve egg—” he stammered. The Boss held still, then softened the border: Happy Dragon said: “Customer may order.”
