Paradise is a library With wonders to behold Fountains of knowlege Jungles of adventure And tales of the unexpected Bombard the senses With each turning page. It takes you away from the Outside world and its outrage. It gives you romance It gives you hope It gives you mechanisms That help you cope. It provides everything you need. It feeds the brain and makes you Believe. It gives you sustenance and relief For your soul. It even helps you reach a goal. So why are so many libraries Disappearing? Why are their doors closed? Why is paradise lost? When it is the destination we need as we are often told. Each generation Looking to learn Are being censered by town council funding. They blindly think the Internet will help everyone learn. But it isn't the click of the button, or the swipe left or right. It's finding the right book or sometimes the wrong one That sparks a path - A road to enlightenment. It's a treasure hunt in paradise That teaches you and builds wisdom.
