S4.5 E1: I’m Still Crash
╔════════════════════════════════════╗ ║ 🥡 REN’S CANON ADDENDUM 🥡 ║ ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 4.5 ║ SUBSTITUTIONS MAY (NOT) BE SERVED ╚════════════════════════════════════╝ EPISODE 1: I’m Still Crash ──────────────────────── 📧 FROM: REN 📧 TO: JUSTIN 📎 RE: I’M STILL CRASH Justin, In Season 4, you left Bart alive, but not okay. That is not a criticism. It is a receipt. Arthur said the worst possible true-feeling thing. Tim got careful. Conner got close. Everyone meant well, which somehow made the room worse. Bart does not know how to make them feel the old signal again, so he does the most Bart thing possible: He gets hungry. He runs. He turns need into speed. This episode is not about proving Bart is unchanged. It is about letting Bart insist he is real before anyone else gets to decide what “real” means. —Ren ──────────────────────── 🥠 FORTUNE ATTACHED TO RECEIPT 🥠 “A boy who still laughs, still bites.” Lucky Numbers: 1 · 4 · 31 · 12 ============================================ [Intro] That nova. popped; I got flash-fried, Caden said nope, death got denied. I’m still right here, but it doesn’t feel crash, They smile like I’m good news wrapped in trash. [Verse 1] No one says I’m wrong; they won’t pick that fight, Like I came back close, but not quite, not quite right. Tim says “cool,” but he counts every clue, Conner stands near ’cause he’s been cloned too. —I’m not a clone! I’m Meeee! I’m Me-E-E-eee Why can’t I be free….? [pre-chorus] Then my tummy growls, like, dude, not now, But maybe food can fix me somehow. [Chorus: defiant, high energy, pop-punk, gang vocals, lead vocalist] Arthur said, “You’re not my Bart.” —Cool. Awesome. Thanks for breaking my heart. I’m Impulse when I run, Kid Flash chasing fun, I’m the boy who broke the night, And came back craving one more bite. (One bite!) Arthur said, “You’re not my Bart.” I’m still fast, I’m still crash, —All right! I can’t fight appetite —All right! I still laugh, I still bite. —All right! Arthur said, “You’re not my Bart.” But he doesn’t get to name my heart. [verse 2: build up] Arthur looks like he wants the old me back, Then flinches when the signal comes through cracked. Grief can be weird, but it still has teeth, So I’m gonna go bite into Szechuan beef. I blow through three streets chasing take-out grease, Need twelve egg rolls and like, emergency peace. [pre-chorus] My tummy growls when I hit Happy Dragon, Lo mein, laughter— take-out I’m baggin’. [Final Chorus: defiant, high energy, pop-punk, gang vocals, lead vocalist] Arthur said, “You’re not my Bart.” —Cool. —All right! Arthur said, “You’re not my Bart!” But he doesn’t get to name my heart. [Bridge] Red light hits; the doorbell sings, Steam curls up like dragon wings. Hot oil pops; its a sealed deal, My body says, okay, this feels real. Harley says, “Well, look who sped,” Slow down, you reckless red head.” Like I’m not back from being… dead. Then my tummy growls, then howls, Need twelve egg rolls, like, right now. [Final broken chorus: slow, melancholy] I’m Impulse when I run, Kid Flash chasing fun, I’m the boy who broke the night, And came back craving one more bite. If I get fed, then I feel real, If I feel wanted, maybe I heal. I can’t fight Appetite, So I chase that takeout light. But then i see, Happy Dragon Look at me… … and its not crash… [outro] My chest goes cold; my stomach kicks, I tell myself, nah, just hungry tricks. I’m ready to order. I’m ready to eat. Happy Dragon draws breath through his teeth— [spoken] “We do not serve substitutions…”
