Everything's Fine - Static Youth

[Verse 1 ] In the glow of a screen, a mother in Kharkiv holds her child tight, While missiles paint the sky a chemical white. In Sudan the rivers run red with the blood of the displaced, And the cameras turn away ‘cause the story’s been erased. In Beijing the factories hum through the smoke and the haze, While the coral reefs die in a thousand silent ways. In the heart of L.A. a father stares at the rent that he owes, And the news says “relax, everything’s under control.” [Pre-Chorus] They tell us it’s fine… They tell us it’s fine… [Chorus] Everything’s fine! The sky is still blue and the children still play! Everything’s fine! Just scroll past the flames and go on with your day! The oceans are rising, the forests are gone, But the influencers smile and the markets march on! Everything’s fine… Everything’s fine… [Verse 2] In the halls of power they argue and lie, While the ice caps melt and the species all die. They build bigger bombs and they sharpen their knives, Then preach about peace while the body count rises. The rich get their bunkers, the poor get the flood, And the algorithm feeds us the lies in our blood. We’re all just pixels in somebody’s game, But don’t worry baby… everything’s the same. [Pre-Chorus] They tell us it’s fine… They swear it’s all fine… [Chorus] Everything’s fine! The wars are just “operations” on TV! Everything’s fine! The fires are “weather events,” you see? The kids can’t breathe and the bees disappear, But the billionaires tell us there’s nothing to fear! Everything’s fine… Everything’s fine… [Bridge ] We laugh at the memes while the world burns slow, We argue online while the children have nowhere to go. We scroll past the bodies, the floods, and the flames, And tell ourselves softly… Nothing has changed. [Orchestral build] But the truth is screaming… In every direction… We’re running out of time… [Final Chorus] Everything’s fine! As the last coral bleaches and the last forest dies! Everything’s fine! While the missiles are flying and the politicians lie! We can pretend, we can smile, we can look away, But the bill is coming and the children will pay! Everything’s fine… (Everything’s fine…) Everything’s… fine… [Outro ] Everything’s fine… Just close your eyes… Everything’s… fine…
