The Fourth Wall Has a Website

V6

[Intro — spoken] I thought the fourth wall was supposed to be invisible. Apparently, it has a storefront now. [Verse 1] There’s a door where the audience stands, with a checkout button in its hand. The curtain moved, the stage went black— a little blue link led me back. I built a world out of scraps and clues, gave it a name and a point of view. If every story gets merch somehow, why shouldn’t this one start right now? [Pre-Chorus] The characters whispered, “The timing is strange.” I said, “That’s the business model. Please don’t look away.” [Chorus] The fourth wall has a website, the fourth wall has a shop. You can buy a little evidence before the story stops. It did it for the other worlds— the heroes, brands, and bands. So why not this one, eh? Why not put it in your hands? [Verse 2] Cloud opened up the browser door, like someone’s been expecting more. Fourthwall glowing on the screen— the least subtle sign I’ve ever seen. A tiny alien somewhere said, “Don’t worry, I can help with that.” No explanation, no grand speech— just put the universe within reach. [Pre-Chorus] I asked, “Is this coincidence?” The interface said, “Sure.” Then offered me a hoodie with a margin I could afford. [Chorus] The fourth wall has a website, the fourth wall has a shop. You can wear a little storyline and watch the boundary drop. It did it for the other worlds— the icons, jokes, and brands. So why not this one, eh? Why not put it in your hands? [Bridge] This isn’t just a shirt. It’s a badge from the scene. A physical notification that the fiction has been seen. A balloon, a shrimp, a kobold, a phrase that crossed the line— somebody made the impossible and now the impossible’s mine. [Verse 3] No velvet rope, no secret code, just choose your size and place your order. The audience becomes a character the second they cross the border. And if you’re wondering who approved this deeply questionable plan— I did. The wall was already broken. I’m just charging for the van. [Final Chorus] The fourth wall has a website, the fourth wall has a shop. You can buy a little artifact from the place the rules forgot. It did it for the other worlds— so let this one expand. Why not this one, eh? Why not put it in your hands? [Outro — spoken] If the fourth wall can have a website… then the website can have a shirt. And the shirt can have lore. And the lore can have a checkout page. This is getting expensive.
