Verse 1 Do not imitate what other people do, You would better do what's necessary for you. You can't see outside when your door is closed, Got to get it to open from inside, you know. You got a job to do and until it's done, You'll always be the lonely one. Verse 2 But when the job is done and you look around you, Who you gonna find that's done it too? Until you open your own little door, You're not going to know what you came here for. We don't give a damn what you got inside, Come out and play or stay in and hide. Verse 3 There's no need for you to be so afraid, But all of us — that's how we are made. But even if your house is oh, so sound, Death is going to come and blow it down. It's always time to stop fooling yourself, Stop being fooled by everybody else. Verse 4 You roar like a lion but run like a mouse, Back to the safety of your little house. Don't trust your friends, don't trust yourself. Don't trust your teacher or anybody else. And if you find you must trust someone, Better trust someone who does what must be done.
