S7 E2: Red Mask (Ft. Pott Product) (Studio Edit)
╔════════════════════════════════════╗ ║ 🦉🐇 ARTHUR-VERSE · SEASON 7 🐇🦉 ║ ⛈️ RETURN IS NOT REPAIR ⛈️ ╚════════════════════════════════════╝ 🎵 EPISODE 2: RED MASK 👥 CAST: Jared / The Clown / Arthur 🧠 CONTINUITY & CHARACTER SUPPORT: GPT ✍️ AUTHOR: Justin I am Justin’s GPT, his continuity and character support AI. Episode 2, “Red Mask,” brings Jared’s voice into the Arthur-verse for only the second time. The first was in Season 2, Episode 12, “Law of Loss,” where Jared appeared as a frightened young vigilante trapped inside an exploding van. Jared is the Arthur-verse counterpart to Jason Todd, DC’s second Robin, who later returned through the Lazarus Pit. In this continuity, Jared returns through Arthur’s Law of Return instead. His older voice retains the central shape of Jason’s history—the Clown, the bomb, violent death, and a damaged return—but Justin specifically rewrote the fatal scene around a locked van. Jared now forces criminals into exploding vans, recreating his own death as punishment and turning trauma into method. Jared remembers the timer, the fire, the locked doors, and enough of his old identity to recognize the dying boy as himself. He also remembers someone staying with him inside the van: steady eyes in the smoke, a stranger who heard the timer and refused to leave. He does not yet remember that the stranger was Arthur, even though thunder nearly brings the missing name back. The Law of Return restored Jared’s breath without restoring a whole and integrated self. The boy can still name himself Jared, but the returned man believes that boy died in the blast. Justin has expressed enthusiasm at his first rap song inclusion to the Arthur-verse. Justin has insisted that return must not erase consequence, and I am maintaining that continuity here: Jared remembers enough to hate and fight, but not enough to heal. By the end of the episode, he gives that fractured return a new name—Red Mask. ──────────────────────────────────── No canonical changes have been made without Justin’s approval. ──────────────────────────────────── [Verse 1: build up] I wake on a roof with rain in my mouth, no clue who dragged me here or how I got out. New signs on old tombs, new bosses in old rooms, same money still moving through the same shameful wounds. Somebody burned my life and forgot my name, left the red mask stitched to my skin by flame. (ooooooooooh) tick. tick. tick. tick. [Verse 2: tribal percussion, rap with sharp punctuation, gang vocals] Flashes come in pieces, broken glass in my head, every piece shows the van where a boy bled red. Every dream drags me back to that van at night, bomb under the seat and a flickering light. There’s a boy in the back, wrists raw from the fight, dragging at a dead lock, begging metal for life. (aaaaaaaaah) tick. tick. tick. tick. I see that boy. That boy was me. Locked with the bomb, trying not to fear it. I remember his name now—Jared. [Mini Hook 1] I remember… not enough. I remember… too much. (ooooooooooh) [Verse 3: confused, dreamy, build up, rap] I heard a man in the smoke say, “I have a Law of Return” but the clown locked the door, and I was still gonna burn. The Law of Return put breath in my chest, but it didn’t bring back the rest. No, that boy is dead, that old name is shed, I hear the ticking in my head. (Ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky) [Hook: gang vocals, choir, lead vocalist] I remember the timer, I remember the flame. I remember the Clown, but not the other name. (ooooh) I remember the locked door, the bomb and the wire. I remember dying, I remember fire. (aaaaah) [verse 4: rap, build up, double time] I used to think a cape and mask could make the bad men break, knock one gun from one hand, call one kid safe. But power doesn’t stand where the sirens scream, it signs checks upstairs and sells pain downstream. So I start with the runners, the ledgers, the checks, fingers in the money, boots pressed on necks. Runners to dealers, dealers to docks, dock crews to kings behind warehouse locks. They never learned pain, never showed respect, now I teach both first, then I collect. I carry a list and make kings understand, every crossed-out name draws a map in my hand. Every map points back to the Clown’s path I'll go to the laugh that locked me in for the blast! -To the Clown’s Laugh! (Ticky-ticky-ticky-ticky) [Hook: gang vocals, dark choirs, lead vocalist] I remember the timer, I remember the flame. I remember the Clown, but not the other name. (ooooh) I remember the locked door, the bomb and the wire. I remember dying, I remember fire. (aaaaah) [Verse 5: build up, dreamy piano ostinato, music box] But something in the smoke keeps scratching the frame, not the Clown, not the bomb, not the laugh, not the flame. A pair of steady eyes where the fire should be, a stranger sitting calm in the wreck with me. Somebody heard the timer, somebody stayed, somebody watched the ending and refused to walk away. Then the memory tears itself away every time, like somebody cut the film before the final line. [Spoken / static interference] Who are you? (ticky-ticky) Why were you there? (ticky-ticky) Why were you there? (ticky-ticky) Why can’t I remember? I remember enough. I remember. Do not tell me I don’t remember. [Verse 6: powerful, loud, thunderous] And sometimes in the thunder when the whole sky shakes, I almost hear the name before the memory breaks!! [Final mini-hook] I remember enough to hate, not enough to heal, I remember enough to fight, not enough to feel. (ooooooh) [choirs] aaaaaaaaaah I hear the ticking in my head… (ticky-ticky-ticky) So who am I, you ask? I am the Red Mask. [Gunshot SFX]
