Drop Bear - 'Barry'.

V4.5-ALL

Verse 1 I’ve sat on buckets, been crayfish bait on hand, Faced wild pigs in the middle of the sand. Had Wally the roo drop by for a cup, Thought I’d seen it all, thought I’d had enough. Verse 2 Then someone whispered of a beast in the trees, Big fluffy ears and teeth like cheese. Drop bears, they said, will drop without warning, Might get you at dusk… or maybe at morning! Chorus I’ll be brave, I’ll climb up high, I’ll have a cup of tea, give a friendly “Hi.” I’ll call him Barry, shake his paw, If a drop bear’s real, well, I don’t mind at all! Verse 3 I’ve been crayfish bait, smelled like soap, Fended off wild pigs, not much hope. Watched kangaroos hopping, teaching me grace, I reckon a drop bear? I can handle that face. Verse 4 I swapped bush yarns with Barry in the tree, Told him of wild pigs, crayfish, and Wally. He “told” me stories of drop bears untamed, All the legendary mischief his kind had claimed. Bridge If you’re scared of teeth that hang and stare, Just rub some Vegemite behind your ear. But me? I laugh, I sip my tea, Sharing stories with Barry, who looks just like a koala, you see. Chorus (repeat) I’ll be brave, I’ll climb up high, I’ll have a cup of tea, give a friendly “Hi.” I’ll call him Barry, shake his paw, If a drop bear’s real, well, I don’t mind at all! Outro So here’s my tale from bush to creek, From wild pigs to critters that sneak. I’ve faced the strange, the brave, the scary, And made a friend at last… meet Barry the drop bear!
