V6-MINI

[INTRO – spoken, warm, amused, conversational] Well, I suppose you could say I’ve had a lifetime of being told not to make too much fuss about things. If something’s broken - make do. If something’s mouldy - scrape it off. If there’s no money - just walk. And if you’re worried about something… Well… [small pause] Don’t worry. It’s all good. [VERSE 1] “Don’t you worry, it’s all good!” Said in my house more than it should. Step right back and just relax, The time is here to cut some slack. My family thinks it’s just my cry, But something tells me they don’t know why. I cannot lie, I’ve often said... I’m sure this trait is just inbred! Passed down through the ages, Through all my life stages. [REFRAIN] It’s all good, it’s all good, Don’t worry - it’s all good. [VERSE 2] In youth there was the mouldy bread, “Just scrape it off... it’s good,” she said. Don’t toss it out, don’t waste a scrap, The pioneers had none of that. Toss it in the pot, and season it well, What’s in that stew? Well, who can tell? With enough gravy, you’ll never know... It’s all good! Eat up and go! [CHORUS] Don’t worry, it’s all good, That’s what I always say. If we can’t fix it right now, We’ll face it on the day. We’ve made do, we’ve carried on, Through bad times, thin and good, And somehow, after all these years, Don’t worry… it’s all good. [VERSE 3] And oh my goodness - pumpkin growing hair! I’d cry, “We’re not eating that - wouldn’t dare!” “Stop your whinging, just scoop it out, Rinse it off if you’re in doubt.” A little bit hairy? Well, that’s no crime, Just cut it away and it’s perfectly fine. You’ll eat what’s left, and you’ll eat it with flair- Because wasting food just isn’t fair! [REFRAIN] It’s all good, it’s all good, Don’t worry - it’s all good. [VERSE 4] Then money was short, there was none to spare, No money for fares, so we walked everywhere. Up every hill and along every road, Stop your whinging and carry your load. We had two good legs, so off we would go, Rain, wind or sunshine, fast or slow. We got there eventually, tired and hot, But somehow we got there with what we had got. [CHORUS] Don’t worry, it’s all good, That’s what I always say. If we can’t fix it right now, We’ll face it on the day. We’ve made do, we’ve carried on, Through bad times, thin and good, And somehow, after all these years, Don’t worry… it’s all good. [VERSE 5] And then my own tribe came along, With hungry complaints in a chorus of song. “You’re not feeding us that!” they’d loudly proclaim, “That bread and milk stuff is a total shame! We want Weet-Bix, we want something grand, With sugar and milk right on demand!” I’d look at them thinking, “Where did I go wrong?” Then hear my own mother’s voice coming along: “Stop your complaining... you’ll eat what you’re fed!” Funny how those words come straight to your head. Seems somewhere along the family line, The very same attitude became yours and mine. [REFRAIN] It’s all good, it’s all good, Don’t worry - it’s all good. [VERSE 6] Now there’s bills and worries and things on the news, Too many opinions and too many views. Screens full of trouble from morning till night, And sometimes the world just doesn’t seem right. There’s pressure and stress that we cannot mend, And wondering just how it will all end. But when someone tells me, “You’ve plenty to fear,” I’ll smile and say softly, “Don’t worry, my dear.” [VERSE 7] Now I’m older... well, I’m really quite old, I’ve lived through an era of doing what I’m told. It served me quite well, I appreciated more, Making do with what I had instead of keeping score. I’ve learned that a little can sometimes be plenty, You don't need a fortune when your hands are empty. We’ve had our share of troubles, we’ve had our share of strife, But I’ve learned to make the best of this funny thing called life. [FINAL CHORUS – BUILD GENTLY] Don’t worry, it’s all good, That’s what I always say. If we can’t fix it right now, We’ll face it on the day. We’ve made do, we’ve carried on, Through bad times, thin and good, And somehow, after all these years, Don’t worry… it’s all good. [OUTRO – spoken, slightly cheeky] So if tomorrow brings me Some problem I can’t solve… I’ll take a breath… Have a cup of tea… And tell myself- [PAUSE] Don’t worry. [SOFTLY] It’s all good.
