Here We Go Steelers

[INTRO – SPOKEN] [SFX: Cold wind, distant crowd] [BUBBA] Sunday morning in Pittsburgh… You know what that means. [DARLENE] What? [BUBBA] Black and gold. [HARMONICA – GRITTY RIFF] [VERSE 1 – BUBBA] Cold wind blowing down the street, Boots hitting pavement to the rhythm of the beat. Coffee in the kitchen, Jersey on the chair, You can feel that football fever Everywhere. From the hills down to the river, From the North Side to the town, When those Steelers take the field, You know Pittsburgh’s gonna get loud. [VERSE 2 – DARLENE] Terrible Towels turning, Black and gold in the air, Whole town coming together, Nobody standing there. Families at the table, Friends around the screen, Everybody yelling louder For the black and gold team. [CHORUS – BOTH] Here we go, Steelers! Here we go! Black and gold forever, Let that old river roll! Through the snow, Through the rain, Through the heartbreak and the pain, Pittsburgh stands together— Here we go again! [YODEL – BUBBA] Yodel-ay-ee… Yodel-ay-oh! Here we go! [VERSE 3 – BUBBA] I’ve seen January mornings When the wind could cut like steel, But you put that jersey on And you know how Pittsburgh feels. It’s more than just a football game, More than numbers on a board, It’s generations of a city Standing shoulder to shoulder. [HARMONICA – BLUES FOOTBALL BREAK] [VERSE 4 – DARLENE] There’s a little kid watching Who wants to play someday, He’s got a towel in his hand And he’s learning how to say, “Here we go, Steelers!” Like his daddy taught him too, And another generation Just became black and gold true. [CHORUS – BOTH] Here we go, Steelers! Here we go! Black and gold forever, Let that old river roll! Through the snow, Through the rain, Through the heartbreak and the pain, Pittsburgh stands together— Here we go again! [BRIDGE – CROWD CHANT] [BUBBA] Who’s got the towel? [CROWD] WE GOT THE TOWEL! [BUBBA] Who’s got the black? [CROWD] BLACK! [BUBBA] Who’s got the gold? [CROWD] GOLD! [BUBBA] Who’s got Pittsburgh? [CROWD] WE DO! [BUBBA] HERE WE GO! [CROWD] STEELERS! [HARMONICA + BANJO + FIDDLE BREAK] [VERSE 5 – BUBBA] Win or lose, We’ll still sing, That’s the way Pittsburgh does its thing. You can knock us down, You can make us wait, But Pittsburgh people Don’t scare easy at all. We’ll come back tomorrow, We’ll line up again, And we’ll stand together Through the bitter and wind. [VERSE 6 – BOTH] [BUBBA] From the old steel mills— [DARLENE] To the football field— [BUBBA] That’s Pittsburgh— [DARLENE] That’s Pittsburgh! [BOTH] A city that refuses To ever yield. [FINAL CHORUS – FULL] Here we go, Steelers! Here we go! Black and gold forever, Let that old river roll! Through the snow, Through the rain, Through the heartbreak and the pain, Pittsburgh stands together— Here we go again! Here we go, Steelers! Here we go! Raise that towel high, Let everybody know! From the hills To the river shore, Pittsburgh’s gonna roar! [YODEL – FULL BAND] Yodel-ay-ee… Yodel-ay-oh! HERE WE GO! Yodel-ay-ee… Yodel-ay-ay! STEELERS! [OUTRO – SPOKEN] [DARLENE] Bubba? [BUBBA] Yeah? [DARLENE] You ready? [BUBBA] Born ready. [DARLENE] Terrible Towel? [BUBBA] Got it. [DARLENE] Jersey? [BUBBA] Got it. [DARLENE] Harmonica? [BUBBA] Always. [HARMONICA – LOUD FINAL RIFF] [CROWD] HERE WE GO, STEELERS! [HARMONICA + CROWD FADE]
