Way of the World - Static Youth (Cover)

V5.5

"Way of the World" by Max Q was written by Australian musician and producer Ollie Olsen. Released in 1989, the song was the lead single from the self-titled album by Max Q, a side project formed by Olsen and INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. [Verse 1] You are born into this world Looking down the barrel of a gun And those who hold the gun want you to work fast and die young And if you don't work, if you don't obey They'll make you live in fear till your dying day Those who govern hold the gun to your head With religious corporations proud of blood they've shed [Chorus] Whether it's God or the bomb It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God up above It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name [Verse 2] And the corporate snakes come in to feed On the pathetic fact known as human greed Skin and bones being raked over those hot coals This system never seems to give time for human souls And all those things that we have learned No time for questions, you just get burned You just get burned [Chorus] Whether it's God or the bomb It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God up above It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God or the bomb It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God up above It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name [Verse 3] And words crush you flat like a skull under a brick And the filth poured down your throat that makes you sick And you can see right through the lies That make you feel, that make you live And you're taught to hold tight yet you won't know why Done values forced upon you by a living lie [Chorus] Whether it's God or the bomb It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God up above It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God or the bomb It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name Whether it's God up above It's just the same and it's all just fear under another name
