A Little Help Along the Way

V4.5

I saw a man beside the road, Worn-out shoes and a heavy load, I felt a tug down in my soul— "Don't walk on by, you know your role." I didn’t have a heap to give, But I gave enough to help him live, And as I walked on down the lane, I heard the Lord speak through the rain: 🎵 Thank God He helped me yesterday, And gives me strength to give today. No, I can't fix the world alone, But I can lift the weary home. With what I have and where I am, I'll do my part, just as I can. It may not be a lot I pay— But it’s a little help along the way. 🎵 There was a time when I stood tall, Had a job, good health, and gave my all. But seasons change and so did I, Laid up in bed, just asking why. Then someone came and held my hand, They didn’t preach, they took a stand. They brought me hope, a warm meal too— And now I know what grace can do. 🎵 Thank God He helped me yesterday, And gives me strength to give today. No, I can't fix the world alone, But I can lift the weary home. With what I have and where I am, I'll do my part, just as I can. It may not be a lot I pay— But it’s a little help along the way. 🎵 I’ve learned it’s not just coin or time, But sharing love in word and rhyme. A ride, a prayer, a door held wide— The smallest things, God magnifies. 🎵 Thank God He helped me yesterday, And gives me strength to give today. No, I can’t solve it all, it’s true— But I can help the ones I’m called to. With what I have and where I am, I'll do my part, just as I can. I’ll walk in love, come what may— And give a little help along the way. 🎵 🎵 Just a little help... ...along the way. 🎵
