In an attempt to delay the Fimbulvetr, the eternal winter that heralds Ragnarök, Odin used the forbidden Runes of Wyrd, gradually severing the bond between the gods and mankind. Over the following decades, faith in the Æsir slowly collapsed. In Midgard, particularly in Norway, a new belief emerged: the Green Faith, a religion centered on nature, considered more stable and less unpredictable than the gods themselves. The ancestors of Mikal-Finnvard Arvast, Jarl of Skalvheim, were the founders of this faith. As the heir to this tradition, Mikal-Finnvard used it to unite his people and preserve the prosperity of his land, with the help of Mikki, a druid who was as eccentric as he was mysterious. However, this spiritual movement fueled years of tension with the Kingdom of Trondheim, ruled by King Håkon Eldrún. Against all expectations, the negotiations between Helena Arvast, the Jarl's daughter, and Princess Skörta Eldrún succeeded. Their friendship, born years earlier when Helena had saved the young princess's life, finally established a lasting peace between Trondheim and Skalvheim. That hope was brutally overshadowed when King Håkon died under mysterious circumstances. In his hand was found a wolf-headed ring identical to the one that had appeared only a few days earlier beside Bruno Arvast, Helena's adoptive half-brother. Even before her coronation, Skörta secretly revealed that she was an Andfuglsjá, a priestess capable of merging her spirit with ravens. Through a first forbidden ritual, she caught a glimpse of a path leading to Yggdrasil. After these events, the princess traveled to Skalvheim to officially meet the Jarl and strengthen their new alliance. It was during the return voyage that her ship was attacked. Torstein Orrisson, her loyal bodyguard, was gravely wounded. As his death seemed inevitable, Eir, the goddess of healing and Torstein's true mother, intervened to save his life. Torstein was completely unaware of his divine origins. This intervention carried serious consequences, for in that era every action taken by the gods in Midgard unintentionally strengthened Fenrir, who remained imprisoned in Asgard. The group then returned to Trondheim, where King Håkon's funeral was held. At the end of the ceremony, Skörta was officially crowned Queen of Norway. Determined to uncover the truth behind her father's death, she nevertheless entrusted the kingdom temporarily to her son Erik before setting out in search of Yggdrasil. During this period, Loki continued to observe the events discreetly through Mikell Skar, a vagabond who had failed to become a Jomsviking. Mikell had long been aware of this constant surveillance and already kept his eye hidden beneath an eyepatch to prevent Loki from freely spying on the group. Among the Jarl's household was also Min Shieldthrower, a simple servant originally from the Iberian Peninsula. Unofficially, she was Bruno's mother, a secret known only to the Arvast family. Her heterochromatic eye remained shrouded in mystery. Before long, she grew close to Johannes, a man in his forties whose strange attacks appeared connected to King Håkon's death without him truly being responsible. Min discovered that she alone could calm his tormented mind. As they shared more dreams together, their feelings deepened until a devastating truth emerged: Bruno was in fact Johannes' son. It was also revealed that Johannes was constantly tormented by Sköll, Fenrir's son and the eternal hunter of the sun goddess Sól. His violent attacks reflected the endless struggle between his human soul and the influence of the divine wolf. When the expedition finally set sail toward Yggdrasil, a colossal storm swallowed the ship and scattered its companions. Johannes realized that it was no natural phenomenon, but the work of Jörmungandr, awakened in the depths of Midgard following Eir's intervention. The survivors were cast ashore across Iceland, separated from one another. Helena, Min and Johannes were captured by local Vikings who spoke an unfamiliar language before eventually reuniting with Bruno, who, against all logic, understood their language perfectly without knowing why. Having earned a place within the village, Bruno encountered a Brúarsjá, an oracle and guardian of the worlds, who hinted that the path to Yggdrasil lay within the island's volcano. Meanwhile, Mikal-Finnvard, Torstein, Mikki and Mikell found Skörta unconscious on a makeshift raft. While discreetly searching her belongings to understand what had happened, they discovered that she was an Andfuglsjá, strengthening the bond of trust between the Queen and the Jarl. During the journey, a growing closeness also developed between Skörta and Mikell. Once reunited on land, Skörta performed a second ritual, the Hrafnsálbinding, intended to locate the other members of the expedition. The ritual produced a completely unexpected phenomenon: Helena managed to communicate with the Queen through the raven, even though the ritual was only supposed to locate someone. This anomaly raised an entirely new mystery: what was so extraordinary about Helena that she could accomplish something no Andfuglsjá had ever witnessed? During their journey, they encountered a mysterious young musician with no name, soon nicknamed Ash. The melodies of her instrument revealed the deepest truth of those who listened, while its sound changed depending on the world to which its listener belonged. Mikki immediately realized that, like him, she could perceive the echoes of multiple worlds through music. Their conversation revealed that they belonged to the same ancient lineage. Ash also revealed that she had lived for more than five centuries in Niflheim and that she was the origin of the Andfuglsjá. Her past also appeared to be deeply connected to Hel, Loki's daughter and Fenrir's sister. At last, everyone converged on the volcano. Helena, Bruno, Min and Johannes arrived first, only to discover that the passage was guarded by a gigantic Fire Jötunn, protector of the road leading to Yggdrasil. After a desperate battle, the creature hurled an immense sphere of fire toward Helena. At that very moment, Mikal-Finnvard arrived with Skörta and the others, revealing a power no one had ever seen before. Through an ancient form of magic, he transformed the fireball into a sphere of runic ice and hurled it back at the guardian, freezing the giant before it shattered and melted beneath the volcano's overwhelming heat. Exhausted by this feat, the Jarl collapsed without being able to explain the origin of his mysterious power. As his companions rushed to his aid, Skörta gazed into the crater and finally recognized Skuggadalr, the hidden valley where the long-sought entrance awaited. The path to Yggdrasil finally lay before them. 💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
