I decided to open it right away, So I could look fate in the face. Not that I believe in fate, But the sentence lingered in my head: 'A weight will be taken off your mind' Was what the narrow strip of paper said. And even though I am quite level-headed, My mind ran away with me. Could this be a prediction after all? And if so, what weight could it be? Yes, I have quite a bit of weight to carry, My life isn't running smooth. I could really use some relief, I could really use something to soothe. Not that I believe in fate, But the sentence lingered in my head: "A weight will be taken off your mind" Was what the narrow strip of paper said. And although I don't believe in fate, A small spark of hope began to glow. So I put the piece of paper in my pocket, Because you never know. © Artanne - 2026
