[Lyrics by Greenwolf] [Bombastic orchestra leading into heavy Greek sounding Guitar Riff] [Verse 1] On the Greek Island of Crete Ruled by the great King Minos He made a pact with Poseidon To aid him in his cause Was sent a sacred white bull For sacrifice to the Gods But he chose to keep the bull For his defiance he'd pay the cost [Verse 2] Under command of Poseidon Aphrodite curses the King's wife Enchants Pasiphae to love the bull For Minos' failure to take it's life A monstrous child is born Abomination of bull and man Hidden away from human eyes And so the legend began [Heavy Guitar Riff] [Bridge] Abandoned as a child Locked in Daedalus' maze Left to grow wild To succumb to savage ways He was not born a monster but a monster he will become [Complex guitar solo with symphonic orchestra] [Verse 3] Prince Androgeus the son of Minos Was killed by a bull in Athens Blamed the Athenian King for his death And demanded Athenian blood to make amends Minos threatened war upon Athens Unless they agreed to sacrifice Fourteen Athenians every nine years To feed the Minotaur's appetite [Heavy Guitar Riff] Fully grown Locked in Daedalus' maze Completely wild Succumbed to savage ways All traces of humanity long gone a monster he's become [Melodic Guitar Solo] [Bombastic orchestral solo] [Melodic Guitar Solo] [Complex guitar solo] [Heavy guitar riff] [Verse 4] In Athens King Aegus is united with the son he never knew Theseus reveals himself to him A fine warrior brave and true [Verse 5] Ariadne Daughter of Minos and secret lover of Theseus He would with Ariadne's help find a way to break the Minos curse [Chorus 1] When the time of sacrifice arrives He comes forward as a sacrifice A solemn oath he swore He would kill the Minotaur [Long melodic guitar solo] [Verse 6] Aegus Orders his son to raise white sails on his return So that he knows he is alive to settle his fear and concern [Verse 7] Ariadne Gives to Theseus A ball thread to trace his path Through the maze Using the thread He finds himself face to face with Minotaur's wrath [Chorus 2] Well the time of sacrifice arrived Will he succumb a sacrifice Or fill the oath he sworn that he would kill the Minotaur [Bridge] A fierce battle commences between Theseus and the beast Who will survive? Would the Gods decide? Or will Theseus guide the fates by his hand [Complex guitar solo] [Syncopated rhythm] [Complex guitar solo] [Melodic guitar solo] [Verse 8] The other.. Athenians.. All wildly cheering.. As Theseus stands.. above the slain.. Minotaur [Celtic Guitar Riff] With the thread.. He leads them.. to safety.. From the labyrinth.. To his ship.. in the port [Melodic guitar solo] [Change to slower tempo] [Verse 9] He thanks Ariadne for help but leaves her on the Isle of Naxos He then forgets the promise made to his father Black sails blowing in the breeze Sailing them closer to their home of Athens To a heroes welcome from families brought back together [Verse 10] But Aegus sees the black sails And believing his son to be dead Heartbroken the King threw himself into the sea Theseus is crowned the new King But his heart ways on him heavily This was not the way it was supposed to be [Orchestra outro] [Ending]
