Verse 1 When God first spoke as day began, He lent His steel to mortal man. Charlemagne took it, strong yet mild, The Hand of Michael graced God's child. Chorus Hand of Michael, angel bright, Hand of Michael, guard our night. Hand of Michael, when we fade, Be our peace, our light remade. Verse 2 Where’er he moves, the dark takes flight, Yet still his gleam consumes the night. Each triumph births a mournful chord, The Hand of Michael bears the sword. Chorus Hand of Michael, angel bright, Hand of Michael, guard our night. Hand of Michael, when we fade, Be our peace, our light remade. Verse 3 Then God reclaimed His gift once more, And steel now rests in mountain lore. But when the world forgets His call, The Hand of Michael wakes for all. Chorus Hand of Michael, angel bright, Hand of Michael, guard our night. Hand of Michael, when we fade, Be our peace, our light remade. Outro Beneath the stone he sleeps in peace, Yet still his echo shall not cease. Hand of Michael, angel bright, Hand of Michael, hear our plight: Hand of Michael, when we fade, Be our peace, our light remade.
