Hey! Hey! Turn it back! Woke up on a Tuesday At the wrong end of the street. A thousand pointed moments Trying to tell me who to be. I sketched a dozen answers On a page I couldn’t trust — Every line ran out of order, Every corner filled with dust. But the world kept spinning faster, And my footsteps fell behind… Got a broken map, folded twice, Lines all tangled in the night. Took the long way, lost the track, Still I keep on coming back. If the roads don’t match the signs, I’ll draw my way across the lines — On this broken map of mine. I chased a fading echo Through the static of the crowd, Heard a voice that sounded like you Singing something too damn loud. We were young and running sideways, Never learned how roads connect — Now I’m stitching all the pieces Into something I respect. Yeah, the world kept spinning faster, But I’m catching up this time… Got a broken map, folded twice, Lines all tangled in the night. Took the long way, lost the track, Still I keep on coming back. If the roads don’t match the signs, I’ll draw my way across the lines — On this broken map of mine. Tear the page, start again, Every wrong turn finds an end. Trace the line, shake the past — This time I’m gonna make it last. Got a broken map, folded twice, But I see the shape of daylight rise. Took the long road, paid the cost — Still I found what wasn’t lost. If the world won’t match the signs, I’ll sketch my way across the lines — On this broken map of mine.
