[Verse 1] Monday morning, nine o’clock, everyone is on the clock. One is clicking, one’s on coffee four, ’cause without it he’ll be dead for sure. Boss asks, “How’s it going?” “Really great!” somebody says. But he’s been staring at his screen doing absolutely NOTHING. 😂 [Chorus] From nine o’clock until five, everybody’s working hard! One’s at the office, one’s in a shop, one is dreaming of Saturday! I look out the window: WHO IS WALKING ROUND AT ELEVEN?! Restaurants packed, the beach is crowded… AREN’T YOU PEOPLE WORKING?! 😂 [Verse 2] Tuesday morning — traffic jam, everyone is driving in. Once they finally get to work, the boss says, “Here’s some work… and here’s some MORE.” Ten o’clock — the first coffee. Ten-oh-five — another coffee. Eleven comes — “Should we eat?” And the work? WHAT WORK?! First we need another coffee! ☕ [Chorus] From nine o’clock until five, we’re just fighting to survive. Eight hours of working hard… and five hours pretending! 😂 Someone turns their camera off: “The internet keeps cutting out!” But they’re really in sweatpants, lying down and eating lunch! [Verse 3] Wednesday — middle of the week, motivation’s officially dead. Body’s at the computer, soul went downtown instead. One is riding on a bike, one is walking with their dog, one is sitting at a bar… PEOPLE! WHO IS WORKING FOR YOU?! “I’m on holiday.” “I work remotely.” “I own a business.” Well, of course… EVERYONE’S GOT IT SORTED! 😂 [Verse 4] Thursday — almost Friday now, so we’re winding things right down. Email sent at nine today, the answer comes… ON MONDAY. Boss says, “Meeting at two!” Everyone: “Great! Of course!” Microphones are muted: “WHY DO WE EVEN NEED THIS MEETING?!” 🤣 [Verse 5] Friday morning — happy faces, nobody says “Good morning.” They just ask: “WHICH BAR ARE WE HITTING TONIGHT?!” Three o’clock — watching the clock. Four o’clock — jackets are ready. Four fifty-nine… The boss sticks out his head: “I’ve got one tiny thing, real quick…” NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! 😭 [Final Chorus] From nine o’clock until five, most of us are stuck at work! One is counting, one is carrying, one is dreaming of Saturday! But the lucky few at noon are relaxing on the beach, taking photos, drinking coffee, living the life we dream about! So I look out the window: IT’S TUESDAY! IT’S ELEVEN O’CLOCK! WHAT ARE YOU DOOOOOING?! AREN’T YOU WORKING?! 😂😂😂 [Outro] 9:00 — coffee. 10:00 — second coffee. 11:00 — “What’s for lunch?” 12:00 — lunch. 1:00 — “I ate too much…” 2:00 — meeting. 3:00 — “Only two hours left…” 4:00 — mentally home. 4:59 — hand on the door. 5:00 — RUUUUUUUUUN!!!
