It's RIGHT There!

The complaints came while I was traveling, About the lessons I'd prepared. So after I had made it home, I read each one with special care. I looked for words that might be hurtful, Prepared to change what wasn't fair. But the accusations I went looking for? The evidence just wasn't there! I read each lesson from the beginning, Every message, every song. Looking for judgements I'd presented as facts, Or places where I'd gotten it wrong. The songs reflected moments of hurting, The lessons explained how I'd grown. Not indictments, not final verdicts, Just the journey that the music had shown. I found love and understanding, And lessons with real value to share. You say you didn't find those things? The evidence is RIGHT there! You say I never expressed my love? It's RIGHT there! SAME LESSON! You say I never took responsibility? It's RIGHT there! SAME DAY! You say I used your children's pictures? It's NOT there! What were you looking at? You say I put your grandchildren on display? It's NOT there! Are you sure you're looking at the same page? I said these songs reflect my viewpoint, Not the only way to see. You might agree with their perspective, You don't have to agree with me. I said these weren't indictments, Not a verdict to declare. You say I claimed to know the whole truth? Evidence to support your claim is simply NOT there! For the past year you've heard another story, And perhaps believed that it was true. Now I've shared another perspective, Another point of view. You don't have to choose my version, Or decide that theirs is wrong. But don't mistake a single viewpoint For the full story all along. You say you had no choice But to criticize me publicly. But a message could have been private, If you'd wanted it to be. My page was public just like yours. You wanted to post your words there too. You say you had no other option? Well, that claim just isn't true! You ask me to examine Every choice I've made, To measure all my actions By the faith that I've proclaimed. I'm willing to ask those questions, To kneel in humble prayer. Did you encourage them to seek counsel For the things they did and continue to do? Is that standard meant for everyone, Or just for me and not for you? Confirmation bias has a way Of showing us what we expect to see. We find the proof that fits our story, And miss what challenges what we believe. Are you responding to what I shared, Or to a story you've been told? Are you searching for understandinging Or defending beliefs you already hold? You heard a story from somebody, And formed an opinion of your own. But how much of what you're judging Is something you've personally known? There's a difference between hearing And knowing what occurred. Before you judge an entire story, Consider what you haven't heard. I went looking for my own mistakes, Prepared to change what wasn't fair. You say I never question myself? Well, the evidence is RIGHT there! I don't expect you to agree, Or accept each word I've said. But don't accuse me of writing What you've imagined that you read! Have you read the words I actually wrote, Or only what you've heard? Before you judge the message, Be sure you're judging MY words! It's RIGHT there! It's RIGHT there! The evidence is RIGHT there! The love, the lessons, the responsibility, The willingness to be fair! You don't have to agree with me, Or keep your own perspective hid. But don't claim I said what I didn't, Or overlook the things I did! You say AI tells me Just what I want to hear. But it challenges my thinking And helps me see things clear. It asks what I know for certain, And what I've just assumed. It helps me question judgments Before conclusions are presumed. You think it fuels my anger, But it's helped me find my peace. I tried to share my unfiltered thoughts— She said, “That one's NOT for release!” It's RIGHT there! It's RIGHT there! It's RIGHT there! The evidence is RIGHT there! The love, the lessons, the responsibility, The willingness to be fair! You don't have to agree with me, Or keep your own perspective hid. But don't claim I said what I didn't, Or overlook the things I did! Sometimes the truth is painful, Sometimes beliefs are hard to change. But feeling hurt and finding falsehood Are not the same. Evidence doesn't require agreement, It requires examination and care. You don't have to agree with what I wrote, But don't accuse me of writing what isn't there. Are you responding to what I actually shared, Or to the story you've been fed? It's RIGHT there! It's RIGHT there!
