Hebrews 10 A

V6

Let's remember why the Torah established the system of sacrifices in the first place. The sacrifices offered under the earlier priesthood were a shadow of the greater things that were coming. They pointed toward something important, but they were not the complete reality. Every year, the same sacrifices had to be offered again and again. And even though people faithfully brought their offerings, those repeated sacrifices could not make them completely perfect before Elohim. Think about it. If those sacrifices could have completely removed sin and cleansed the conscience of the worshiper, why would they need to continue? Once the people were fully cleansed, there would be no reason for another sacrifice for the same purpose. But instead, those yearly offerings reminded the people of their sins. They showed that sin was still a problem needing a greater answer. Because the blood of bulls and goats could never completely take away sins. And that brings us to Yahushua HaMashiach. When Yahushua came into the world, Scripture describes him speaking to his Father. You did not desire sacrifices and offerings as the final answer. Instead, you prepared a body for me. Burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin could not give you the complete satisfaction you desired. So I declared, Here I am. The Scriptures have spoken about me, and I have come to do your will, O Elohim. Now notice what Yahushua is saying. The sacrifices and offerings commanded under the former priesthood were not the final purpose of Yahuah's plan. They had their place under the Torah, but something greater was coming. Yahushua came to do the will of his Father. And through that obedience, the former sacrificial arrangement would give way to the sacrifice that accomplishes what those repeated offerings could not. Yahushua came to establish what Elohim had prepared. And it is through that will that we are made holy by the offering of Yahushua's body. His sacrifice was made once, for everyone it was intended to sanctify. Now picture the earthly priests serving at the altar. Every day they stood and carried out their duties. Again and again, they presented the same kinds of sacrifices. But those offerings could never completely remove sin. Yahushua did something entirely different. He offered one sacrifice for sins, a sacrifice that would never need to be repeated. Then he sat down at the right hand of Elohim. And there he remains, waiting until his enemies are placed beneath his feet. Through that one offering, he has accomplished what the repeated sacrifices could not. He has perfected forever those who are being made holy.
