It’s Christmas day and the time is near To open presents and sing good cheer The stockings hung by the chimney side We just can’t wait to see what’s inside Mom and Dad are sleeping and we can’t wait So we wake them up as they slept too late We hurry down to that Christmas tree To see what Santa has brought for me Christmas is a special day And we all should celebrate But we must remember the greatest gift Was not under a tree and was almost missed Only shepherds came To the babe that day To see this little child The greatest gift of all His name is Jesus Christ And He saves our lives Born this Christmas Day Mom and dad say wait just a minute Before you find out what is in it Let us share the story of ages The one that’s written in these pages Then they open up the Bible They read in Matthew then in Luke I heard the story once again It reminded me of His love The love He showed When He came to earth that day Christmas is a special day And we all should celebrate But we must remember the greatest gift Was not under a tree and was almost missed Only shepherds came To the babe that day To see this little child The greatest gift of all His name is Jesus Christ And He saves our lives Born this Christmas Day The greatest gift of all And he saves our lives This little child saves out lives Born this Christmas Day
