The Lone Mustang

Kicking up the dry, cracked earth A shadow breaks away, heading west With no name, just moving on Alone, riding toward the world’s end Burning in your body That boiling, blazing blood Even without a map The stars still know the way ahead Run, mustang Pull the wind along Let your mane fly free Through roads that never were Forward, forward Forward, forward Run, mustang Hold your pride up high Higher than the sky Shout it out loud “I am free” Shout it, shout it Under the burning sun On moonlit nights beaten by rain Away from the herd, even alone Eyes fixed ahead, running on Run, mustang Leave your mark of life With your pounding hooves Across the wide open land Carve it, carve it Carve it Run, mustang Strong and noble That beautiful form Together with freedom Run, run You stand alone within the wind Nothing left to tie you down Just run the way your heart commands Even staring beyond the sky At the distant edge, there’s no answer Only further wilderness ahead Run, mustang Pull the wind along Let your mane fly free Through roads that never were Forward, forward Forward, forward Run, mustang Toward another road Toward tomorrow yet unseen Together with freedom Run, run Run Run, mustang Run, mustang
