Verse 1 Who believed the message that was told? A tender shoot from dry and broken soil. No royal crown, no beauty to behold, Yet He came to save the lost from sin's turmoil. Despised, rejected, a Man of grief and pain, Acquainted with our sorrow every day. We turned our faces, walked the other way, But still He bore the price we could not pay. Chorus He was pierced for our transgressions, Crushed beneath our sin and shame. By His wounds we find our healing, By His blood we're saved and changed. Like sheep we've all gone wandering, Each one choosing his own way, But the Lord laid all our iniquity Upon the Lamb that day. Verse 2 Silent as a lamb before the shearer's hand, He never spoke a word in His defense. Condemned and taken from the living land, Though He was innocent of every offense. They made His grave among the wicked men, Yet with the rich He rested after death. No violence found within Him, no deceit upon His breath, Yet He surrendered every breath. Bridge Yet it pleased the Lord to crush Him for our peace, An offering for sin so grace could be released. Now He sees His offspring, now He lives again, The righteous Servant justifies His friends. He carried all our burdens, He bore our darkest night, And now He stands victorious In resurrection light! Final Chorus He was pierced for our transgressions, Crushed beneath our sin and shame. By His wounds we find our healing, By His cross we're born again. The grave could never hold Him, Death could never make Him stay, For the Lamb of God has conquered, And He's reigning now today. Outro Worthy is the Suffering Servant, Worthy is the risen King. Isaiah saw His glory, And forever we will sing. Forever we will sing.
