Peace with God

V6-WILD

[INTRO — SPOKEN] Yo It’s SILL-E……. I spent years trying to find the way out… Whole time, I was looking for a door God was trying to teach me how to build one. [VERSE 1] More scars than the pages that the old books had, Turned pain into poetry, made the broken look glad, Had the weight of the world like a stone in a bag, But God gave me shoulders every time that I sagged. I was chasing every blessing like it owed me a check, Whole time heaven had a lesson written over my debt, I was looking for a ladder, God was building my steps, Had me walking through the valley just to strengthen my breath. Life’s a movie, but the Author don’t reveal every scene, Sometimes faith means moving when you don’t know what it means, I was staring at the clouds trying to measure my dreams, Then I realized the sky ain’t the limit to kings. I had baggage on my back, thought the luggage was me, God unpacked every burden, showed me something to see, Every scar was a scripture, every loss was a key, Every door that wouldn’t open redirected my feet. I don’t need the whole map if the Guide knows the route, I don’t need every answer when my faith figures it out, I was asking for a sign while He was pulling me out, Now I’m seeking less applause, trying to quiet the crowd. I ain’t chasing just a heaven that I heard about, I’m trying to find that peace while I’m walking it out, Had a war in my spirit, had to silence the doubt, Now I’m getting closer to the One I can’t live without. [CHORUS] Peace with God, That’s the treasure I was searching for. Peace with God, More than anything I ever wanted before. Peace with God, When the world gets loud, I know what I’m living for. Peace with God, I don’t need the crown if I’m closer to the Lord. [VERSE 2] Boys behind the bars, but the mind still roam, Some got freedom outside, still imprisoned at home, I was chained to my habits, thought the chains were my throne, God broke the lock and showed me I was never alone. My pen became a pulpit, every verse got a sermon, I was digging through the dirt just to find what was certain, Had to separate the gold from the glitter and curtains, ’Cause the soul gets expensive when the ego is purchasing. I came from dry bones, now I’m speaking to life, Watched dead dreams resurrect when I stopped forcing the fight, Had darkness in my rearview, kept my eyes on the Light, God don’t always change the road — sometimes He changes the driver. I met my old reflection, couldn’t recognize the face, He was wearing all my habits like a badge of disgrace, I told him, “You can rest now, we ain’t running that race,” Then I handed God the wheel and started changing my pace. Eden in my mind, temptation knocking like Eve, Every fruit ain’t a blessing just because it’s appealing to me, I learned wisdom ain’t knowing everything you can see, It’s knowing what to leave when it ain’t meant for your peace. Lost boys chasing crowns that disappear when they fall, Building mansions on foundations that were never that tall, I was trying to be a giant, God reminded me small Can still stand underneath heaven and answer the call. [CHORUS] Peace with God, That’s the treasure I was searching for. Peace with God, More than anything I ever wanted before. Peace with God, When the world gets loud, I know what I’m living for. Peace with God, I don’t need the crown if I’m closer to the Lord. [VERSE 3] I got questions for my Maker, but I’m grateful for breath, ’Cause I survived some chapters I was certain were death, Had my back against the wall, found a purpose instead, Sometimes God lets you bend just to straighten your steps. I used to measure my worth by the things I possessed, Now I measure every blessing by the peace in my chest, Used to think success meant everybody impressed, Now I’d rather hear “well done” than a million requests. I seen money make a king out a man with no peace, Seen pride build a prison where the walls look like dreams, Seen addiction take a mile when it started with a piece, So I’m fighting every day just to keep my spirit free. My mistakes tried to write me, but God edited pages, Turned the chapters I regretted into wisdom for ages, I was trapped in my past, He was building my stages, Now I’m proof that broken vessels still can carry the greatest. I don’t claim perfection, I’m a work in the making, Every morning is a battle, every breath is a statement, If the devil brings a question, I bring faith to the equation, God already knows the ending, I’m just walking through the pages. So if heaven is the destination, let the journey refine me, If the world tries to define me, let the Lord redefine me, I don’t need to understand every storm that surrounds me, Long as I know who’s beside me when the thunder gets loud. [FINAL CHORUS] Peace with God, That’s the treasure I was searching for. Peace with God, Now I know what all the struggle was for. Peace with God, If I lose everything, I still know what I’m living for. Peace with God, I found what I was l
