I can still feel your hand slip into mine Like the whole room cracked and sparks flew through We were young, and it hit so hard, we would shine And I swear that moment's still brand new That first love keeps ringing through Over the years We were royalty, only me and you Before life interferes Hot July, that corner by the laundromat And your laugh bouncing off the pay phone wall Every little look said more than that And we were both too scared to name it all That first love keeps ringing through Over the years We were royalty, only me and you Before life interferes Now I can see it plain as day How clean and reckless we were then That kind of spark don't fade away It keeps on burning deep within That first love keeps ringing through Over the years We were royalty, only me and you Before life interferes That first feel still cuts right through Still cuts right through the years Still cuts right through
