(Verse 1) On the heights of stone where the proud ones stand, Edom built its kingdom on a shaky land. Brother turned to rival in the darkest night, Watched Jerusalem fall without lifting to fight. They rejoiced in ruin, they claimed the gain, But heaven heard the echo of their shame. (Pre-Chorus) You may hide in the cliffs, you may trust in your name, But no fortress stands when the Lord calls your shame. (Chorus) For the pride of the heart will be brought low, And the mighty will fall where the rivers flow. Justice rises like the morning sun, And the day of the Lord will come. Every kingdom of man will fade away, But the Word of our God will forever stay. And the nations will bow when the trumpet sings— The kingdom will be the Lord’s, the King of Kings. (Verse 2) You stood at the crossroads, turned your face away, Watched your brother suffer, chose the spoil and prey. But the scroll is written, and the verdict’s clear: What you sow in darkness will return in fear. For the cup of judgment is coming round, And the proud are leveled to the ground. (Pre-Chorus) No eagle’s height, no mountain can hide, From the justice of God that rolls like tide. (Bridge) But mercy whispers through the judgment fire, A remnant rises from the ashes higher. For Zion stands where the faithful run, And deliverance comes from the Holy One. (Final Chorus) For the pride of the heart will be brought low, But the humble in Him will overflow. Justice rises like the morning sun, And the day of the Lord will come. Every kingdom of man will fade away, But the Word of our God will forever stay. And the nations will bow when the trumpet sings— The kingdom will be the Lord’s, the King of Kings.
