[Intro | Instrumental | Instrument: acoustic guitar riff, light percussion, subtle fiddle or mandolin hook] [Verse 1] Bare feet on a black tube Cool current on a hot June day We’re laughing under bridges Letting that Boise River drift us away Sunscreen on our shoulders Your old ball cap on me Pull out by Barber Park Smell that cottonwood and creek [Prechorus 1] Summer's in the Treasure Valley Boise River floating Idaho, you have my heart And I hope you know it [Chorus] Take me to the mountains, take me to the trees (Take me!) Take me to the river where the water runs free (Runs free!) No matter where I go (Where I go!) Idaho's my Idahome (Ida-hoooome!) Yeah, Idaho's my Idahome [Verse 2] Tents staked by Lake Cascade Campfire sparks chasing stars Burnt marshmallows on bent sticks Old songs and cheap guitars Fourth of July in the gravel lot Tailgate down, blanket spread Fireworks in the rearview Red and blue above our heads (oh yeah) [Instrumental Break | Instrumental | Instrument: fiddle or electric guitar lead] [Prechorus 2] I'm away, but not too far Out here countin' all the stars The truth is If you ask me what heaven is [Chorus] Take me to the mountains, take me to the trees (Take me!) Take me to the river where the water runs free (Runs free!) No matter where I go (Where I go!) Idaho's my Idahome (Ida-hoooome!) Yeah, Idaho's my Idahome [Bridge] Pulling out at Lucky Peak Sunburned nose, tired cheeks You’re calling “last run” down Bogus Basin Kicking snow off your boots by the heap Same old truck, different season Dust or chains on the tires But it all feels like one long weekend Wrapped up in barbed-wire fences and power lines [Prechorus 3] I don't care if we go anywhere I got a spot we can disappear It's in my bones, my blood It's everything I love [Chorus] Take me to the mountains, take me to the trees (Take me!) Take me to the river where the water runs free (Runs free!) No matter where I go (Where I go!) Idaho's my Idahome (Ida-hoooome!) Yeah, Idaho's my Idahome ——————— Written and produced by @vinnyleaf Vinnyleaf Music 2026
