The Labyrinth

STUDIO

I sought the door that should not yield to me. I turned the key and heard the heavens split. I wore my flesh as though it were a name, And mistook pain for something I could bear. The first incision taught my nerves to speak; The second stripped the language from my prayer. The body begs to keep what I discard. The mind resists the truth the nerves reveal. I cross the threshold, leaving man behind; I learn what mortal senses cannot feel. I rise beyond the limits of the skin. I shed the self that begged to be restored. Let every nerve become a sacred text; Let every wound unlock another door. No longer bound to what I was before, I take the name no mortal mouth can hold. The Labyrinth receives what I become; Its laws are writ in ecstasy and cold. Leviathan has measured out my worth; Its iron law has entered every vein. The geometry of pain becomes my creed; I find no sin in what you call profane. The flesh that once confined me comes undone; The nerves extend beyond their mortal frame. I cannot tell if I have been released Or simply learned to worship what I became. Was this salvation? Was this the price? The question dies beneath the answering knife. I asked for knowledge no one could bestow; Now every answer has a pulse of pain. Unmake the face. Unname the man. The old design No longer stands. Expose the nerve. Complete the rite. I chose the door. I chose the price. Unmake the face. Unname the man. The old design No longer stands. Expose the nerve. Complete the rite. I chose the door. I chose the price. I rise beyond the limits of the skin. I shed the self that begged to be restored. Let every nerve become a sacred text; Let every wound unlock another door. No longer bound to what I was before, I take the name no mortal mouth can hold. The Labyrinth receives what I become; I am the answer you were never told.
