You all know him as Jackrabbit slims. As he puts it, this was to his lady love describing what he takes in on any given night. Too Much Light. [Verse 1 – Whispered, spare piano chords behind] Walking down Sunset with your hand in mine… You’re laughing at something I missed again. But I see the billboard’s peeling paint, And the man in the gutter mouthing names. Palm trees flicker like old film reels, Every shadow’s got a thousand feels. There’s a story in the broken neon, A sermon in that child’s song… --- [Verse 2 – Beat fades in, slow and primal] Every face we pass becomes a flood— A mother, a dealer, a brother lost in mud. I see Sedona burning red, Hear Maui whisper things the dead once said. Vegas lights ain't just lights to me… They’re echoes of dreams that used to be. A dancer’s look, a hand on glass, Flashes of futures that never passed. --- [Pre-Chorus – Tension builds, still quiet] I can’t turn it off… Can’t dim the flame. Even love can feel like too much name. You just smile and breathe the air… But all I hear is everywhere. --- [Chorus – First crash, drum hit, voice opens] 🎶 There’s too much light in this mind of mine, Every second’s stretched and redefined. I see it all, the pain, the art— The stranger’s truth, the beating heart. And I wish I could just let it be… But the world keeps bleeding into me. Oh… there’s too much light… And it burns too bright… 🎶 --- [Verse 3 – Softer again, like falling backward in time] We sit in traffic and you hum a song, But I’m stuck in a war from lifetimes gone. The man in the Lexus reads fear on his phone, The girl on the curb thinks she’s alone. I feel the waitress’s cigarette pain, And the hope in the tagger’s midnight name. The canyon breathes a sacred moan— And every freeway is a psychic tone. --- [Bridge – No drums, echoing keys and voice alone] I see patterns in the way birds turn… I hear ghosts in the way strangers yearn. Every scent, every sound, every stare— Feels like a novel written in the air. --- [Chorus – Second drop, huge drum crash, full vocal power] 🎶 There’s too much light in this soul I wear, Like walking naked through electric prayer. I love you, girl, with all I got— But my mind don’t stop, it just ties knots. And I try, I try to hold the line… But the beauty and madness always intertwine. Oh… there’s too much light… And it blinds me inside… 🎶 --- [Final Section – Epic outro, heavy drums, layered voices] (Sung in layers — echoes of his thoughts overlapping) 🎶 L.A. weeps in glass and chrome… Maui sings where gods once roamed… Vegas flickers like a dream delayed… Sedona bleeds where prayers were made… 🎶 And I walk beside you in the night… But inside, I’m drowning in the light… Yeah, I walk beside you in the night… But inside, I’m on fire from the light… 🎶 --- 🎵 [Outro – Just his breath and ambient keys] (He whispers one last line, broken, barely audible) "I see the sky in everything… Even when it hurts to see."
