People wandering about the car just like us. Everyone has their own life, their own circumstances. Graduation rattles along. Tracing the route guide arrows. We laughed at the wrong station. We thought we'd get off at the same place. Our gazes never met, and we ended up going our separate ways. Conversing through our bags. A faint waver of courage. The lamp at the exit. Illuminating only you. We exchange glances as we arrive at the station. Our hands see you off as you get off, like a dangling strap. Our faces reflected in the frosted glass, amidst the unchanging scenery. Our respective futures connected by the doors. The departure bell sounds like fanfare. A night when we're caught up in trouble on the train and feel like we're about to cry. A morning when we stand up for someone. That person who kindly offered their seat to me will not be riding next spring. Falling in love, feeling envious, chatting with friends. I laughed out loud without thinking, only to get scolded. A scene in the opposite direction of travel. My heart changes little by little with each sway. At the end of the graduation ceremony. The departure board lights up. Rather than arriving at my destination, I choose to get off. We pass through the same door, seeing each other off and being seen off. Raindrops clinging to the windowpane are pushed by the wind and slowly disappear. On the other side of the frosted glass, the scenery passes by. Goodbye, thank you, see you again someday. The station I thought I'd arrived at turns out to be a transfer gate further ahead, and every time the destination sign changes, even my ordinary everyday life is rewritten. I learned that there are cars I can no longer ride with the commuter pass I was clutching tightly. The departure bell rings, our Fanfare. The doubts clinging to the window glass are pushed by the wind and slowly disappear. I hold on to the dangling straps as I see off the days that have fallen. Goodbye, thank you, see you again someday. A future you can choose each time the door opens. The departure bell always rings Fanfare. Goodbye, thank you, see you again someday (see you again someday).
