All The Empty
I saw you through the static Your words were shaped like vines they were folded, they were fractured something oozed between the lines what I noticed when I smelled them was the acrid sting of fear some defenses some illusions and something really clear You weren’t lurching reaching forward toward me leaning from the edge midst the echoes in the hollers and the darkly twisted mire you were stumbling blindly wandering wanting proof of a soul and I see you but I saw you soooo far away and the words that helped you say it aren't helping you today were those words did were those words just were those words just fade away did those words just would those words this really appear really did you say did you mean that could you mean that could you know how I feel? all the empty all the shallow empty words will never heal what you couldn't ever build up without tearing it down what you wouldn't ever stick to no, you never held your ground so I'm hollow and I'm wasted at the end of the day I have spoken, I have seen this I have walked in this race and it’s vacant and it’s pointless so I turn away my face could you say it? how could you see it? the old familiar way did you say that? did you mean it? the entropy and decay These thoughts... consume my night I toss and I turn feelings I yearn the fight it just drags on but the light lasts till the dawn I will feel another soul that in time will make me whole and when you look back one day that soul and mine sealed for all of time will remind you what can endure yes there are still souls that are pure so go in peace along your way and through the static I pray you may find a folded fractured vine where something seeps through the lines don't let the pungent scent of doubt obscure the empty space inside that longing for one by your side but let the light shine through your abyss and open up your heart to bliss
