[Verse 1] One night the Moon was in the sky Looking for a midnight treat A box of star-shaped cereal Crisp and oh so sweet She poured herself a great big bowl And found a cozy place Watching all the sleeping world Drift softly into dreams [Pre-Chorus] One sleepy blink... One little nod... And oops! [Chorus] There goes the cereal There goes the glow Twinkling through the milky splash Everywhere I go There goes the cereal Look how it shines Red, gold, and tangerine All poured across the sky [Verse 2] A few shoot across the sky To grant a wish or two The rest too pretty not to keep Were left for me and you Now they sparkle through the darkness And shimmer where they lay A happy little accident That never went away [Pre-Chorus] One sleepy blink... One little nod... And oops! [Chorus] There goes the cereal There goes the glow Twinkling through the milky splash Everywhere I go There goes the cereal Look how it shines Red, gold, and tangerine All poured across the sky [Bridge] So when the night comes tiptoeing And the whole world sleeps I like to think that little spill Is sparkling up there still A happy little accident Too pretty to erase A trail of star-shaped cereal Scattered out through space [Final Chorus] There goes the cereal There goes the glow Twinkling through the milky splash Everywhere I go There goes the cereal Look how it shines Red, gold, and tangerine All poured across the sky There goes the cereal There goes the glow Twinkling soft and slow Red, gold, and tangerine Still dancing through the sky [Outro] One night the Moon was in the sky Looking for a midnight treat And left behind the prettiest thing The whole world gets to see
