Ash Upon The Field - Stannis Final Act
(Melodic Guitar Intro) (Verse - The March to Winterfell) He left the Wall with banners high, A king beneath the storm, To wrest the North from traitor hands and Forge the promised dawn. Through blinding frost and bitter wind, His army pressed with pride, But Winterfell was far away - And hunger marched beside. (Chorus) Oh Stannis, fire and fury bound, The snow would be your shroud. You chased a crown through smoke and pain, But fate would drag you down. A king who would not kneel nor yield - Now ash upon the field. (Verse - The Sacrifice) The fires failed, the men grew weak, The red god gave no reply, And in the dark, he made the choice - And heard his daughter cry. A father’s love burned on the pyre, The flames ereased her name, And what remained was not a king - Just shadow, grief, and flame. (Chorus) Oh Stannis, fire and fury bound, You struck the red god your vow. You gave your blood to feed the fire - But who is burning now? A king who would not kneel nor yield - Just ash upon the field. (Verse - Collapse and Defeat) The camp lay still, the soldiers gone, Deserters in the frost, His queen had found her end in grief, Her love and reason lost. Yet still he marched, one final time, Through ruin, cold, and shame, Where Bolton blades, without a word, Unmade the chosen name. (Bridge) The flames that whispered, “You are crowned,” Now flickered, thin and small. No drums would sound, no banners rise, Just winter over all. (Final Chorus) Oh Stannis, fire and fury bound, You would not break nor bend. But snow and silence dragged you down - A king no god would defend. No throne of iron, and none of flame - Just ash without a name.
